Looking Back. Moving Forward.

As we celebrate 30 years of the Oklahoma Senior Journal, it’s as good a time as ever to commemorate an anniversary of our own.
In 1959, a group of thoughtful community members chose to invest in the future of Oklahoma City. Leaders from 10 local congregations of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod recognized that as the city grew, more families would be in need of housing resources to accommodate older adults.
They were diligent and good stewards of this endeavor and finally saw their hopes and dreams come to fruition. In 2007, Lutheran Senior Citizens, Inc. opened Concordia Life Care Community. This faithbased, not-for-profit retirement community provides a full continuum of care options to its residents and the community at large.

ty features people of all faiths and backgrounds. Our beautiful 15-acre campus features apartment and cottages homes to inspiring residents that are proud to call Concordia their home. Our residents come from all over and are equally committed to continuing Concordia’s mission and encouraging each new neighbor to get involved and feel connected. Concordia’s staff members are equally committed to serving senior adults, delivering exceptional care and compassion to all.
In the climate of uncertainty we have all experienced over the past few years, it’s reassuring to see an unwavering example of stewardship and commitment. As we celebrate 15 years of service, we gratefully reflect on the sacrifices and dedication that have paved the way for our future. While looking back on the blessings we’ve received, we also move forward with an exciting next chapter, including the future construction of our Pastor Harold Kaman Chapel Expansion. This project will be a beautiful addition
to our community and allow us to serve both our residents and Oklahoma City community.
The greatest blessing of all is our wonderful residents. Concordia residents have rich backgrounds and a wealth of experience to share. One of their favorite opportunities is to give back to others. Whether it is spending time with volunteers from the Junior League or local churches, gaining knowledge from visits by the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, or the HUGS project, residents are eager to learn and grow by investing in others.
Our residents constantly engage in meaningful activities such as camaraderie with neighbors, exploring new venues with treasured friends, or hosting guests in their homes.

For the past 15 years, Concordia residents have valued the peace of mind our Life Plan retirement option offers them and their families, so they can relax and enjoy all that life has to offer. As we continue to move forward, we’re excited to welcome new residents and help them enjoy what they love most in life.
