(MACL) the operator of Velana International Airport is a 100% government owned Limited Liability Company governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Privatization and Corporatization Board of the Maldives. MACL embarked on the largest development project in the Maldives which includes a new Code F runway which can accommodate A380 aircrafts, a Passenger Terminal which can handle 7.5 million pax annually, a Cargo Terminal & a Fuel Farm which is 3 times the size of the present facility, the world’s largest Seaplane Terminal along with other infrastructure developments. During the pandemic MACL was awarded the ACI Health Accreditation Certification & also the Voice of the Customer Recognition Award. MACL is EU-RA3 & ISAGO certified.
