Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd (MIFCO) established in 1993, is the state-owned company responsible for modernizing, commercializing, and expanding the local fishing industry. The pioneer of the modern fisheries sector in the Maldives, MIFCO transformed the traditional small-scale fishing practices into a globally recognized large-scale operation. The company collects the daily catch from local fishermen through its collection facilities across the country, stores them in storage centers before being processed for consumption or exported as raw materials.

With its internationally licensed cannery, production facilities, frozen tuna collection centers, fleet of fish collection vessels, and established products distribution network, MIFCO has grown from a small pilot project into the largest industrial operation in the Maldives.

PRODUCTS & SERVICES:

MIFCO has a diverse product range that includes canned, chilled, and frozen tuna, ready-to-eat range, Ras’ain and smoked dry products. MIFCO’s export products include whole frozen tuna, tuna loins, cans, pouches, and fishmeal. Having achieved the most stringent quality standards in the industry, MIFCO supplies to some of the world’s leading brands to distribute under their own labels. MIFCO’s own brand “Fasmeeru” first produced in 1998, maintains market leader status in the Maldives.
