THE LEGEND OF COCONUT JOE & TEQUILA TED
Coconut Joe was a world renowned psychopharmacologicalbotanobiologist, who traveled the world in search of undiscovered flora and fauna that might be used to treat mental illness. In the course of his work, he also developed many unique and tasty recipes. One day, as he was sitting on the island of Mayaguana in the shade of a rare Murphus Murphorius palm, a coconut fell and konked him on the head, erasing all of his memory except the part dealing with food. So he did the sensible thing, and gave up a career in science to become a restauranteur. But unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, Hurricane Cor‐ rie blew across Mayaguana, sucking all the oxygen and Joe off the island. She blew him all the way to South Carolina, where he was discovered, dazed and confused, but obviously well‐fed, by marketing genius Tequila Ted. Ted knew a good, if bizarre, thing when he saw it, so he hauled Joe aboard his sailboat, and deposited him in the galley. Joe and Ted played with recipes, found a building, hired a crew of pirate cooks and creatively deranged artists with terrific serving skills, and opened the doors. After many years, wanderlust got the better of Ted, and he sailed off into the sun‐ set. Joe kept the place rockin with the able assistance of Durga the yoga chick, but he was getting old, and needed more help. Fortunately, the deposed King of Flanaganski Island, David the Only, washed up on shore, fell head‐over‐flipflops for one of the servers, settled in, and announced himself as the new King of Coconut Joe’s. King David now runs the place with the able assistance of Christine, Stephanie, Jenny, and Ri‐ ley. Joe has resumed sitting under the palm tree and traveling the world. The rest is history.
