Doyle’s Café was established in 1882 and started as a one room pub. It was purchased in 1972 by Edward Burke with the help of his 2 brothers’; Gerard and Billy. Doyle’s Café has become a political destination in the City of Boston thanks in part to former Mayor Ray Flynn. In 1986 Jim Koch, founder of the Boston Beer Company and Samuel Adams products, developed a unique partnership with Doyle’s Café making them the first purveyors of Samuel Adams beer. To this day their relationship has continued to flourish. Since Doyle’s Café was started it has grown and three rooms have since been added including the Mayor Thomas Menino room. Doyle’s Café has been featured in several movie and television productions, Movies including; Celtic Pride, Mystic River and 21 and Television productions include; Boston Public, The Kennedys and Fitzgerald’s, The Biggest Loser and The Originals with Emeril Lagasse. Keeping family in mind, in 2005, Doyle’s Café was passed on to the next generation... Gerard Burke Jr. and Christopher Spellman. Doyle’s Café thanks you for your continued patronage and loyalty.
