THE EXPANSION CAMPAIGN PG 1

In response to the growing needs of our patients and community, the Clinic is doubling its capacity to care for those in need. This will enable our stellar physicians, nurses, and staff to provide more specialized services and treatments, enhance the patient experience with updated facilities and equipment, and most important, extend our reach to help and serve an even greater number of uninsured individuals.

HELP US HELP MORE

Our clinic is dedicated to healing and helping the Bay Area’s uninsured communities, within an atmosphere of trust, compassion, and care.

The Order of Malta Clinic of Northern California is a nonprofit medical clinic that provides free preventive and specialized health care services and treatment to uninsured and lowincome patients – no questions asked.

While the average span of faith-based medical clinics is just 2½ years, our clinic has been in operation for 14 years and continues to grow in services, number of patients served, and geographic reach. We currently serve patients from more than 65 Bay Area cities and as far away as Sacramento. To meet these growing demands, we are expanding the Clinic’s footprint so we can double our capacity to care for more people in need.

The Clinic team is comprised of more than 70 volunteer physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, all committed to delivering high-quality care to those who need it most. In 2021, our dedicated team logged more than 8,500 hours of service and provided care to more than 4,500 patients.

OUR MISSION

Uphold human dignity and care for people in need.

INCREASING ACCESS TO QUALITY CARE

The Clinic extends a lifeline to the uninsured and underserved, and is committed to providing free health care to more adult patients in the rapidly growing uninsured populations of Northern California. Thanks to the dedication of Clinic volunteers and generous support from donors, people who would otherwise be lost in the healthcare system have access to quality care and a better quality of life. But the need is growing so we are seizing the opportunity to do more.

With the support of Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ and the Diocese of Oakland, the Clinic has embarked on an expansion campaign to meet the growing demand in patient care. Our goals of the expansion campaign are to:

• Expand the Clinic’s capacity and enhance the quality of our existing facility

• Serve more than twice the number of patients per year

• Provide more specialized services

• Recruit more volunteers

• Further extend our reach across regional boundaries through telemedicine and mobile care services

We have been hard at work to make this dream become a reality and plans to officially break ground are scheduled for Fall 2022.
