Welcome to Gladstone Camp Meeting! We are so glad you chose to come and experience camp meeting this year. Our theme this year is Called Together… Members in Ministry. There is a special blessing that God gives as we fellowship, worship, and work together, and this becomes even more significant as we move closer to the return of Christ. You will be blessed each evening as Mike Tucker unpacks the Bible stories of salvation. Mike very recently lost his wife and ministry associate, Gayle, but is still wants to share his passion for Jesus' sacrifice and God’s gift of salvation. You will not want to miss any of the evening meetings. Each morning during the devotional time, our administrative team will be taking a look at the church just after Jesus returned to heaven. There are powerful parallels found in those chapters from the book of Acts that are significant for us today. Our Bible Study time at 9:00 am with Carl Cosaert will give you a whole new insight into the mentoring, modeling, and ministry of Paul and Timothy. Cosaert, one of our professors from Walla Walla University, will share insights from the second book of Timothy. Again, this will be a blessing each day as you hear the God-inspired thoughts shared from this small book of the New Testament. I can’t begin to tell you which workshops you need to attend as there are so many options and exciting topics being covered! There are also worship opportunities and activities for children and youth, as well as and some new and exciting opportunities for young adults. Education Day Thursday, July 21

Thursday at camp meeting is a special day as we celebrate our Christ-centered Adventist schools within the Oregon Conference. We currently operate 10 preschools, 21 kindergarten8th grade, four kindergarten-10th grade, three kindergarten-12th grade, and three 9th-12th grade schools within Oregon and southwest Washington. Our enrollment is projected to top 2,500 students this coming school year and our goal is to teach each student about God's love and the plan that He has for their lives. Thursday evening we will be featuring some of our amazing students as they share through music and stories. Also, stop by the Education tent to learn more about opportunities available.

All ages* are welcome to participate in the annual Gladstone Camp Meeting 5K Fun Run/Walk (3.1 miles)! You may continue pre-registering online through 2:00 pm Thursday at http://bit.ly/28IALg5 or at the InfoCenter in the Plaza or register on Friday morning at 7:00am. A limited number of extra T-shirts will be available for $5. If you preregistered and preordered a T-shirt, please pick it up at the InfoCenter by Thursday; and plan to join us at 7:00 am on Friday, July 22, at the start line. Look for the large banner near the InfoCenter. The run/walk begins at 7:30 am and ends by 9:00 am. IdenTity Matters– We're under attack

How ancient is the biblical text today? Can We trust the Bible we are reading? What is the most accurate translation? These and many more interesting questions will be answered during this unique Bible expo which will feature unique examples of the ancient manuscripts of the Bible and its translations. A copy of the Isaiah scroll found in Qumran; a unique Hebrew Bible printed in 1618, a text used earlier by Martin Luther in his translation of the German Old Testament and many other interesting artifacts will be presented.

Now that I’ve accepted God, do my temptations dictate my identity? How does identity shape my relationship with God? Does my victory in Christ guarantee that I will marry someone of the opposite sex? Near the beginning of scripture Adam and Eve hid from God because of their shame, covering themselves with leaves in an attempt to make it look like everything was okay. Humanity has been covering up in the presence of God ever since. Most us want the abundant life talked about in scripture, but our shame for the things we have done or have had done to us keep us at arms length from God. Jesus came to break that separation and give us life. Because of Jesus we can come boldly before God UNASHAMED, confident that we are known, accepted, and fully loved.

Join us at the end of each evening for a young adult café with great food, quality music, and the chance to connect with our growing and expanding young adult community in the Oregon Conference. Each café will feature local artists uplifting the name of Jesus though live music.

Featured Speaker Manny was born and raised in the small town of Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He lived there until the age of 13, when he and his family moved to Southern California. During his year serving as a student missionary in the Marshall islands Manny realized Jesus was calling him to serve in full-time ministry. In 2007, he earned a degree in business administration from La Sierra University, and recently completed a masters in theological studies from HMS Richards Divinity School. Manny is the founding pastor of Kelo Seventh-day Adventist Church, a new vibrant congregation in Southern California. He is married to his beautiful wife Karen, and together they have two daughters: Sophia Xareni and Karissa Bella.

A Fast-Pass is available for individuals who wish to fill out one form for all of our excursions and pay a one-time discounted fee. These individuals will receive priority seating when loading the buses.

Paddy McCoy

Our speaker for each meeting will be Walla Walla University Chaplain, Paddy McCoy. Paddy currently serves as the campus chaplain at Walla Walla University, is married to Tricia McCoy and is the proud father of Ayden and Ally. In addition to loving the opportunity to minister at WWU, Paddy writes for Insight magazine and enjoys mentoring leaders, living life to the full with Holy Spirit joy, and doing whatever it takes to lift up the One who was lifted up for us all.

Serving the homeless in downtown Portland, and IMAX at the OMSI. We will spend the morning in downtown Portland ministering to those in need. After a quick lunch, we’ll head over to OMSI to see one of their amazing documentary productions on the big IMAX screen.

Friday $10 – 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Park clean up & adventures

We will be heading to Milo-McIver State Park to help with some park maintenance and cleanup. After a picnic lunch, we’ll spend some quality time hiking the trails, playing some frisbee, volleyball, soccer, and other outdoor rec activities.

ummer is a special time for children. A Wild West Son Creek Adventure will have them talking about just how special it was! Every morning they will hear a fresh Bible story from Curly Joe taken from the book of Acts. Then they will divide into four groups where the lessons from the Bible story are played out in fun ways.

They learn about forgiveness, following Jesus’ instructions, loving and accepting others, talking to God in prayer and telling others Jesus loves them too. On The Farm With Jesus Y

Alexander "Sasha" Bolotnikov Alexander "Sasha" Bolotnikov has a PhD from Hebrew Union College. He holds an MA in Hebrew and Biblical languages from Andrews University. Prior to earning this degree, he served as a professor at Zaoksky University in Russia. Raised in communist Russia, he experienced discrimination from religious and civil communities because of his Jewish heritage. Through his study and research of ancient Biblical languages, Rabbinic sources and scripture, he has explored the meaning of Messiah from both Jewish and Christian perspectives. Sasha is the director of the Shalom Learning Center which is the NAD Jewish Ministry Training Center for Adventist ministers and lay people. In addition, he heads up Jewish ministries and is a pastor in the Oregon Conference.

Alice Busch

Alice Busch has been active in emergency management since 2000. During her long career in fire service, she served as an emergency manager, EMT, public information and education officer, critical incident stress manager, fire inspector, and fire investigator. Prior to her current position, she worked as an emergency manager for the Department of Human Services. Her work involved mass care and sheltering, continuity of operations, disaster behavioral health slanning, and donations and volunteer management planning. She is currently responsible for ensuring operational readiness of Multnomah County Emergency Management. Alice has worked closely with the leadership of Adventist Community Services Disaster Response. She brings her contagious enthusiasm for disaster resilience with her to every meeting and presentation.

Al REimche

Al Reimche was born in Alberta and has lived across Canada from British Columbia to Newfoundland. After teaching church school in Newfoundland, running a small construction/remodeling business, and traveling across western Canada for the Adventist Book Center, he began his pastoral career in Creston, BC. After serving in Alberta, he pastored the Pendleton, Ore. district and then took a call to be ministerial director here in the Oregon Conference. In 2001 Al began serving as vice president for administration and in 2009 accepted a call to lead the conference. Al and his wife Beth have two kids, two kids-in-law, and two grandchildren. When not at work Al enjoys wildlife photography, motorcycle trips, and exploring back roads in Oregon/Washington.

Carl Cosaert

Carl Cosaert serves as a professor of Biblical Studies at Walla Walla University, where he has taught since 2005. Before earning his PhD, Carl served as a pastor in the Midwest. He enjoys preaching and writing. His most recent work is, Galatians: A Fiery Response to a Struggling Church. He has authored several upcoming projects, including a commentary on Galatians for the Andrews Bible Commentary, and on 1 and 2 Timothy for the SDA International Bible Commentary.

Cory Jewell Jensen Cory Jewell Jensen is a United Methodist “PK” from Oregon who is a long-time friend, trainer and consultant to the North American Division (NAD). Prior to becoming the senior trainer for CBI Consulting, she served as clinical director of the Center for Behavioral Intervention in Oregon where she provided sex offender evaluations and treatment services to adult sex offenders and their families for 32 years. Cory has provided training and consultation to law enforcement, child advocacy, and faith-based organizations throughout North America, including the US Navy, the Special Victim’s Unit of the NYPD, and 21 Adventist conferences in the NAD.

Dan Linrud

Dan Linrud was born and raised in Washington. At a young age, he sensed God's call to pastoral ministry and attended Canadian Union College (now Burman University) where he earned a bachelor of theology. In 2005, Dan earned a doctor of ministry, and in 2009 he was called to serve as vice president for administration in the Ontario Conference. Having served throughout Canada and the Pacific Northwest, he accepted the invitation in 2013 to return to the Northwest to serve as assistant to the president in the Oregon Conference. Dan and his wife Verlaine, enjoy many activities with their two grown daughters including outdoor activities, travel, reading, sports, good food, and fellowship.

Dave served as the senior pastor at Sunnyside Adventist Church in Portland before accepting the position at the Oregon Conference headquarters. Prior to his ministry with Sunnyside, Dave served as president of Helderberg College, an Adventist institution in Somerset West, South Africa. Before his academic leadership, Dave served as president of the Cape Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for three years, and held a number of leadership roles within that conference.

Derrick Foxworth has over 34 years of law enforcement experience, including 27 years with the Portland Police Bureau. Derrick has a broad depth of experience related to public, community, and church security workings. He is a graduate of the University of Portland and currently works with the Portland Community College Department of Public Safety. Derrick and his wife, Linda, attend Sharon Adventist Church where they’re both actively involved in various church ministries.

Gary Parks

Gary is a Planned Giving and Trust Services Advisor certified by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Gary’s many years of ministry were filled by a passion for Jesus and for helping people realize the freedom He offers. His experience as a Senior Pastor and Youth Pastor gives him a unique perspective on estate planning for all ages. His other passions include his family, music, biking and living life to its fullest.

Glen Gessele

Since 1993 Glen has been part of the Planned Giving and Trust Services Department of the Oregon Conference. He is currently the director, plus specifically services our members in Yamhill, Polk and Washington Counties. With a background in pastoral ministry in Kansas and Oregon, he enjoys helping people plan their estates so as to make a difference for eternity. He’d be happy to visit with you about estate planning, gift annuities, gardening, mason bees and North Dakota.

Derrick Foxworth

Gary Dodge is a former director of Planned Giving and Trust Services (PG&TS) for the General Conference/North American Division. Previously, he served as director of PG&TS and under treasurer for the North Pacific Union Conference. Gary has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and holds the certified specialist in planned giving designation. He enjoys spending time with his family and two grandchildren, as well as hiking, climbing mountains, sea kayaking, and doing landscaping projects.

Jennifer LaMountain

Thousands have witnessed the grace and passion of Jennifer’s ministry. The beauty and energy of her music is contagious. From her first church solo at age three, to her roles in opera, regular appearances on religious television and worldwide satellite programming, Jennifer continues to inspire listeners. Since 1993, Jennifer has been a featured artist on radio and television and appears on numerous religious programs worldwide. She has sung in major halls and stages and numerous churches including the Crystal Cathedral, Manhatten Center, St. Louis Busch Stadium, PICC, and the list goes on. Jennifer is proud to be representing Faith For Today. Jennifer is also an artist associate with World Vision and regularly speaks on their behalf.

Kim Schroeder

For over 25 years Kimberley has enjoyed working with church members who wish to share the blessings God has given them, with ministries that inspire them and have touched their lives. She currently is director of Planned Giving and Trust Services for the North Pacific Union Conference.

Lee Meadowcroft A 1991 graduate of Loma Linda University, Lee obtained his JD from Willamette University in 1994. He took a break from law to teach English in Korea and Japan for several years before returning to practice law in Oregon as a general practitioner, then in the regulation of adult care homes for Multnomah County. Since 2004, Lee has practiced as a solo practitioner in Portland, with an emphasis on estate planning and probate matters.

Maureen O'Kane

Maureen O’Kane grew up believing in evolution until she read a Bible for the first time at the age of 25. For 30 years, Maureen has shared scripture science programs at schools, retreats, churches, camp meetings and more recently, creation apologetics organizations in Oregon and Washington. Her passion is researching discoveries through the eyes of Scripture, believing science and faith together provide a truer image of our Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Melody Mason

Melody is passionate about Jesus, and about helping others learn to have a vibrant and authentic walk with Him. She works with the General Conference Prayer Ministries in Silver Spring, Md., and is author of the bestselling book, Daring to Ask for More, published by Pacific Press in 2014.

Manny Taiblum

At age 11 Menachem "Manny" Taiblum found himself running for his life from a Nazi ghetto in Poland. Surviving the Nazi occupation of WWII on his own took courage, fortitude, and most of all, a strong faith in God. Immigrating to Israel after the war and then later to Brazil, Manny finally ended up in Portland, Ore. where he now resides. Manny has shared his life story in With G-d at My Side: A Child’s Story of Survival.

Mike Tucker

Mike Tucker is the speaker/ director for Faith For Today Television, the oldest religious television broadcast in the world. Mike has devoted his life to ministry and has a career marked by service to God and his community. He served for 17 years as senior pastor of the 2000-member Adventist church in Arlington, Tex. He has additional experience as a counselor, christian high school bible teacher, youth pastor, and senior chaplain for medical and psychiatric facilities. He has authored several books, including Journal of a Lonely God; Jesus, He's All You'll Ever Need; Meeting Jesus in the Book of Revelation; Every Good Thing; Ten Keys to a Happy Marriage, Mad about Marriage, and many more. Mike hosts the award-winning Lifestyle Magazine.

Elder Olan Thomas has worked at It Is Written for eight years. He has served God in multiple capacities during his life. Early in his career, he served in literature evangelism leadership in Greater New York, Michigan, and the Indian Ocean Union. Later he worked in pastoral ministry in Michigan. While serving as pastor, he was called into planned giving to assist church members in gifting assets to the work of God. Olan Thomas is married to Phyllis Walkup Thomas and they have three grown children, Samuel, Charissa, and David.

Ricardo J. Whyte is a graduate of Atlantic Union College with a bachelor of science in biochemistry. He obtained his medical doctorate from the University of Connecticut. He completed psychiatry residency at Loma Linda University, and an addiction psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Whyte is now on the faculty of Loma Linda University as an assistant professor. He serves as the medical director of the chemical dependency service. He is married to the lovely Florence V., and they have a wonderful daughter Alexi Genevieve.

Ted Perry

Ted is a planned giving and trust services advisor certified by the Adventist Church. He loves meeting with families and bringing understanding to estate planning. He loves to hear about how God has blessed others. He serves the I-5 corridor from Portland to Ashland, as well as the coastal communities from Lincoln City to Brookings. Ted enjoys music, kayaking, running, and spending quality time with his wife.

Wayne Blakely

Wayne lived in the “gay culture” for nearly forty years. Christianity confirmed the sin of homosexual behavior, but seemed ignorant about how to address it in a significant way and from a loving perspective. God never gives up on a heart that will respond to Him. When Wayne was receptive to the influence of the Holy Spirit, all the prayers that had been prayed for him came and got him. Today Wayne shares how all of us have the choice to claim the victory that Jesus paid for. Helping end the silence on homosexuality, God has sent Wayne around the globe with His “love in truth” message.

Ricardo Whyte

Ron Halvorsen Jr. grew up the son of a pastor/evangelist. Through the years he has lived in many states, some of them twice. Currently, Ron is the president of the Ohio Conference. Born in Marlborough, Mass. he began his ministry as a youth pastor in Orlando, Florida. From there he pastored in Florida and Washington. He has also been lead pastor on the campuses of Southwestern Adventist University, Mount Ellis Academy, Washington Adventist University, and Union College. He grew up on the camp meeting trail and gladly joins us in his beloved Northwest. Ron is excited to have the opportunity to share Jesus with us this Sabbath. He and his wife Buffy, have two married children, one grand child and another due in August. He says that out of the many positions he's held over the years, being a dad and grandpa are his favorite.

Campground Locations

On the corner of Main Street and Plaza, the Locations building will have people who can help with RV and camping spaces, repairs and parking concerns. Office hours are Sunday-Thursday, 8:30 am-8:00 pm, Friday, 8:30 am-8:30 pm, one hour after sunset on Saturday night and 8:30 am12:00 pm on the last Sunday.

Gladstone Reservations 2017

Your 2016 campsite may be renewed for the 2017 camp meeting at the locations office starting Sunday July 17 at 10:00 am, ending Sunday July 24 at 11:00 am. For camp meeting reservation questions, please go to http://orgccampus.netadvent.org/reg or call 503-850-3500. Payment in full is due at time of reservation or renewal and may be made by cash, check or most major credit cards. You have until August 31st to reserve your same site. After that date all unreserved sites will be available for anyone to reserve.

Exhibit Tent

Visit numerous member ministries booths along with exhibits such as Project PATCH, Sabbath Keepers Motorcycle Ministry, International Children's Care, and Ultimate Mission for information and resources. The tent is open 5:00-9:30 pm Tuesday evening and 9:00 am-9:30 pm Wednesday-Sabbath.

InfoCenter

Is located in the Plaza and is open Tuesday, 3:00-9:30pm, Wed.-Sab. 8:00am-9:30pm, Sunday, 8:00am-12:30pm. Personnel are happy to answer your questions and give directions. Camp meeting information booklets, mail, lost and found, and emergency phone calls are cared for here. Emergency messages are referred to the InfoCenter (503-850-3355) during open hours and to Dispatch at night (503-850-3351). Dispatch is at the Locations Building at night.

Lost & Found

Items are to be turned in at the Info Center. Items not claimed by 11:00 am on Sunday are taken to the Oregon Conference Headquarters and held for 3 months, before being donated to PACS.

Cafeteria

Meals in the cafeteria will be served buffet style Sunday noon through Sunday morning with the exception of Sabbath noon when prepared hot food trays will be provided to facilitate the large number of people. We accept cash, checks and most major credit cards, except for Sabbath. Visit the Adventist Health tent, located behind the main pavilion, for information and resources about healthy living and supporting the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of our local community.

First Aid

First Aid is now lcoated at the far end of the Security building. Basic first aid will be provided by Oregon Conference volunteer medical personnel. Open hours are Sunday, July 17 to Saturday, July 23 from 7:00am-11:00pm and Sunday, July 24 from 7:00am-12:00noon. If First Aid is unoocupied, connect with a red or blue shirted staff member. If you need to contact medical personnel between the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00 am, please call (503-850-3351) or visit the Dispatch officer at the Locations building.

The playground is meant for children ages 10 and under. If you have older children, please encourage them to play in other areas. Do not allow your children to play unattended on the playground. The Plaza Pavilion media team will be broadcasting certain programs on television. The audience may be recorded as well. We may use these photos and videos on our website, in print publications, or for video, broadcasting, or for any other purposes. Estate Planning

The staff of the Planned Giving and Trust Services Department are available to visit with you about creating a new estate plan or updating an existing plan. Specifically: Wills, Trusts, Charitable Gift Annuities, Durable Powers of Attorney and Advance Directive documents. Stop by our camp meeting office on the main floor of the Holden Center or call 503-850-3570.

Literature/Photography

Please do not distribute literature, set up displays, post information on bulletin boards. In order to get stamped approval, please bring your items to be posted to the Conference Office front desk by 5:00pm. Be prepared to leave those items. Items approved will be posted the following morning. Please, no photography or videography for public distribution without Conference administrative team approval.

If you can't join us in person every evening this week, or would like to share a bit of camp meeting with a friend, each evening’s meeting & the Sabbath morning services in the Plaza Pavilion will be live streamed online. Just visit www.OregonConference.org!

For Safety's Sake Prohibited

The following are prohibited on the grounds: firearms, fireworks, alcoholic beverages, smoking, vaping, illegal drugs, and marijuana. Also prohibited are bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and scooters.

For Safety's Sake Walking

Please be aware that the ground is uneven and may pose a tripping hazard. Most hazards on paved walk-ways have been marked, however, if you locate a tripping hazard that is not marked, please inform campground staff. If you need to cross Oatfield Road, Please use the pedestrian crosswalk at the main entrance rather than jaywalking.

Parking

Please park in designated parking areas only. Display the parking permit with your name and contact information on the dashboard. If a vehicle is parked improperly, every attempt will be made to reach the owner before the vehicle is towed at the owner’s expense. If you would like to park an extra vehicle at an RV site, your vehicle MUST be parked in line rather than perpendicular to the RV. The extra vehicle must fit within the RV space. Except while loading or unloading, vehicles cannot be parked within tenting areas. If you wish to park off-grounds, please park in such a way that does not inconvenience our neighbors. Do not block driveways or roadways, etc. Help us keep a positive relationship with our community!

If You See an Ambulance

In the case of an emergency, we ask all campers and visitors to please clear a path for the Fire Department and/or ambulance. Also please stay clear of emergency vehicles. Thank you for your help!

Child Safety

The protection and safety of our children is a top priority. Please keep a close eye on them during your stay here. As an extra safety precaution, parents are encouraged to take a photo of their minor children after they are dressed each morning. If the child becomes separated or lost, that photo can be immediately sent out to the campground staff, making quickly locating the child much easier.

For Safety's Sake Curfew

Please be respectful of others and observe curfew and quiet time from 11:00 pm7:00 am daily.

Animals & Pets

Animals and pets are not allowed on the grounds. Assistance Animals are always welcome. Comfort, therapy, and emotional support animals do not meet the criteria for Assistance Animals under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and are not permitted on the grounds. The locations office has a handout with options for people who need to board their pet. Assistance Animals must be registered with Locations and receive a tag that must be displayed whenever the Assistance Animal is on the grounds.

Tent Sites: Cooking must be done in designated cooking areas only. Propane and white gas stoves are allowed. Containers must stay upright and secure at all times. RV Sites: Please have a fire extinguisher on hand for any cooking inside or outside of your RV.
