LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

DEAR READER,

Another term has gone by and another photo edition is upon us. This year has been an incredibly busy one for the Daily Emerald photo desk and I’m incredibly proud of all the work produced by this desk. This school-year recap serves as a visual time capsule of everything that has happened on and around campus in these past 10 months. It’s a pleasure to be able to run a print edition that shows the hard work put in by the photo desk throughout this school year.

This edition is bursting with wonderful photos by an incredibly talented desk. The desk is comprised of Alex Hernandez, Alyssa Garcia, Anna Liv Myklebust, Ben Hutchison, Colleen Bogdan, Eddie Bruning, Eric Becker, JR Quint, Kai Kanzer (senior photographer), Kemper Flood, Lulu Devoulin, Mason Burbey, Mason Cruz, Miles Cull, Morgan Jenkins, Saj Sundaram, Sebastian Flores and Spencer So. Last, but certainly not least, this desk wouldn’t be complete or nearly as successful as it has been without the help of my lovely associate editor, Jonathan Suni. A huge thank you to Suni for all of his hard work and dedication to the photo desk this year.

I feel so grateful to be able to lead and empower this amazing group of photojournalists. As you’ll see in this photo edition, there are some beautiful and striking photos taken by individuals on this desk. Take some time to relish in the beauty of photojournalism and take a look back on this eventful school year through the lens of the Emerald photo desk.
