President’s Letter I

Greetings,

Over the last 12 months, coming out of COVID, we have made a significant impact to the Central Florida community. We told our story and shared our successes with you along the way across various channels from our website to Constant Contact emails, to this quarterly publication of our Orlando Alpha Sphinx News. This is our Summer 2023 edition and is a great bookend to an awesome fraternal year On behalf of the 110+ brothers of the Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and our I.S. Hankins – F. A. Johnson Education Foundation, Inc. I hope you enjoy this edition.

Parents, partners, sponsors, supporters, and fellow divine nine organizations, thank you for the continued relationship we enjoy with each of you. The impact that we have made and will continue to make would not have been possible without your trust and support. Thank you for believing in our brand

Brothers, as I reflect on my first year as chapter president, all I can say is “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Many hands made all of what we accomplished together just a little lighter and we continued to hit “DXL Moments of Swing.” Brothers, thank you for reconnecting to the brand of Alpha and engaging in the work of Alpha. We hosted the District Conference, Regional Convention, and initiated seven new brothers all while continuing to excel in carrying out our national programs and special initiatives As the bible states, “We must work the work of Him that sent us while it is day The night comes when no man shall work. As long as we are in the world, we must be the light of the world ” – John 9:4-5 Let’s remain unified and continue to work while it is day, so Alpha Phi Alpha continues to shine bright in this community Let’s maintain our momentum so we can continue to we all have a story that shapes our journey remaining connected and engaged makes us name – Alpha Phi Alpha. Let’s go!

Fraternally,

Bro. Jermaine B. Patterson, MBA, PMP,CSM
