If there is an adventure, then count on Sarah Cooper to chime in on the fun. And when there is someone else to share the excitement with, even better. Not wanting to decompress from holiday, Sarah and Ufuk rented a helicopter to Catalina Island. Sarah reminisces of the golf cart used to maneuver the landscape in an attempt to locate an intimate spot for picnicking. Both quickly learned they were indeed a match with a keen sense of interest in travel. “We love new adventures, since it has always brought us closer together,” remarks Ufuk. With the best yet to come, Sarah employed as a writer, and Ufuk involved in the marble import industry, revisited the Mexican countryside during December 2007. “He took me

by surprise,” says Sarah speaking of Ufuk’s marriage proposal on New Year’s Eve at a gazebo on the beach. He told me, “I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” Fast forward six months as the couple exchanged vows amongst 250 guests on a bluff with a commanding view of the ocean in Osterville, Mass., Sarah elegantly presented herself in a strapless Carolina Herrera gown embracing a vivid bouquet of roses. Adding a splash of whimsy to the ceremony, Pluto their pet Chihuahua, served as the ring bearer. The contemporary reception kicked off with a twist as 250 wooden boats sat on a tabletop signifying the past adventures of Sarah and Ufuk. Guests ushered into a tent
and scooped up mini replicas listing names and seating assignments on masts. An exotic meal unfolded with a first course of Ocean Trilogy: lobster, crabmeat and Scottish smoked salmon. Not wanting to let go of the moment, Sarah and Ufuk planned an after party depicting the ambiance of a Los Angeles night club. “This was truly the highlight of the evening,” explains an excited Sarah. Leather couches provided the backdrop for dancing, a magnificent martini luge, ice sculptures and a late night nibble to eat. Others took advantage of a plunge in the pool illuminated by feather ball lights. Well wishers later departed via a vintage trolley.
The festivities came to a culmination two weeks later when the couple exchanged vows once more; this time on the Black Sea before 500 acquaintances in Sinop, Turkey, Ufuk’s homeland and a honeymoon to Cambodia and Thailand followed.
