4. Never apply voltage to the test jacks, it can bring serious damage 5. Do not connect the test leads together. This will result in rapid discharge of the battery unit. The instrument will show the overload of all the limits. 3.2 Remarks 1. If not known in advance the estimated value of the capacitor, start the measurement at the limit of 200 pF and increase ranges before test 2. When capacitor is in short-circuit, device indicates overload ("1" in the most significant digit) at all ranges. The capacitor with low voltage leakage appears as overload or as a value much greater real. If the capacitor is broken, shows "0" in all ranges (several pF at the limit of 200pF). 3. When measuring very small capacitors, it is desirable to use the builtin socket or very short probes to avoid distortion readings. 4. When using probes, remember that they are making a parasitic capacitance. Assess approximately the impact of the probe can be measured capacitance values and subtract that value (if it is negative, then add) obtained from the measurement. 5. Capacitors, especially electrolytic, often have a very large deviation from the value indicated on display. Do not be surprised if the amount exceeds value parameters of the capacitor. However, in rare cases, the value of the capacitor is substantially lower than the declared value. 6. The existence of leakage of the capacitor can be determined in the presence of a large difference in the readings of the same capacitor at different ranges. The effect is minimal resistive leakage to a minimum limit of measurement

3.3 Capacitance measurement 1. Select the measuring range 2. Check and, if necessary, set to zero the display (for the limits of 200pF, 2NF, 20nF). Zero adjust is carried on knob on the front. The range of change is ± 20pF 3. Connect capacitor with leads or set into the socket on the front panel. 4. Consider indications in the display. Capacitance value and units (pF, nF, μF, mF). If the display shows "1", then the measured value exceeds set limit of measurement. Set limit measurements to a higher. When displaying zeros, switch to the lower limit. 5. Do not forget to set the switch to the OFF position at the end of the measurement. 4. Care and maintenance When the display shows the character •

replace the battery.

To do this, remove the screws on the back cover of the device. And remove old battery and install a new one of the same type. •

Fuse rarely needs replacement and fails usually due to operator error. To replace the fuse, open the back cover of the device, remove the PCB and replace the fuse (200 mA / 250V)

If there are errors or abnormalities in the operation of the instrument does not perform measurements until you are sure the full serviceability

Never use a multimeter when the back cover is open

To clean the meter, use a soft cloth and weak cleaning fluid; never use abrasive material or solvents

5. How to use the holster The holster is used to protect the meter and to make the measurement more comfortable, it comes with two stands installed together. The figure shows how to use the holster to: 1. Support the meter with a standard angle 2. Support the meter with a small angle using the little stand 3. Hang the meter on the wall using the little stand. Take the little stand off from the back side of the large stand and insert it into holes located upper on the holster

6. Accessories included Test probes • 9V battery type 6F22. NEDA • Instruction manual •
