MESSAGE FROM THE: ATHLETIC DIRECTOR Dear Friends & Fans, I want to thank you for your interest in the Golden Eagle Club and ORU Athletics. Whether you have been a long-time member since the days of the Titan Club, a prospective first time donor, or anywhere in between, I want to emphasize the importance of your decision to contribute to the Golden Eagle Club. Your support is vital to the success of our 230 student-athletes in the classroom, in the community, and in competition. As the costs of education and the resources necessary to maintain and improve our department continue to escalate, so does our need for private funding. There is strength in numbers, and we are asking for your support. Although you will not hit a home run, make a shot, or score a goal for the Golden Eagles this season, your generosity makes it possible for us to compete on a national stage. The mission of the ORU Golden Eagle Club Inc. is to support Oral Roberts University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through private funding for scholarships, endowments, capital projects and other needs as prioritized by the Department.
Cash Donations Most gifts to the Golden Eagle Club take this form and it is as easy as writing a check or using your MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express card. Checks should be made payable to the ORU Golden Eagle Club.
Securities You may eliminate paying capital gains tax and receive an income tax charitable deduction for gifts of long-term appreciated securities.
Gifts in Kind Gifts of goods or services can be of great financial assistance to the Department of Athletics while offering the donor a tax deduction for the fair market value of the gift. Please consult your tax advisor and contact the Golden Eagle Club for more information.
Matching Gifts Many companies will match contributions to the Golden Eagle Club. Submit your company's matching gift form with your gift and it can significantly increase your support and associated giving level.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Athletics is often the front porch of the University: Athletic success is important to Oral Roberts University. Financial stability in athletics ultimately breeds success and success breeds pride among our many alumni and friends. Studies have shown that winning - more importantly winning the "right way" (in compliance with NCAA rules and with great team effort) - can be a tremendous recruiting tool for the general student population as well as for potential studentathletes. Athletic accomplishments often provide invaluable national visibility for ORU while also serving as a catalyst for philanthropy to all areas of the University.
The need to provide student-athletes and coaches with the finest possible resources: Private support is the lifeblood of ORU Athletics. Financial stability is necessary in order to provide scholarship support and academic services for our 230 student-athletes and help them make the most of their educational opportunities and earn their college degrees. ORU continues to rank high in student-athlete graduation rates as a result of this commitment from our administration and donor base. In addition, it is necessary to provide first-class facilities which will assist in recruiting and training student-athletes that proudly wear Navy and Gold. Only when an athletic department is financially sound can it then establish the foundation for "championships" in the classroom and in competition for generations to come.
Gender Equity: Title IX requires an athletic program to provide equitable facilities, scholarship funding, and participation percentages for women's sports in relation to men's sports. ORU has made a firm commitment to the participation and success of its women's programs. This commitment is evident in the recent rankings of our teams. Currently, ORU sponsors eight women's sports.
Ticketing Revenue is Not Enough: Men's basketball, women's basketball, and baseball ticketing revenues are not enough to adequately support all 16 of our intercollegiate athletic programs. Rising scholarship costs, escalating team travel expenses, and the need for modern facilities require that new sources of revenue be discovered.

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES
Many philanthropic opportunities exist through the Golden Eagle Club to support ORU Athletics. All donations to the Golden Eagle Club qualify for benefits, as shown on pages 14-15.
Priority Basketball Seating — A component of the Golden Eagle Club membership is donor seating. All donor seating levels are tax deductible to the extent determined by the IRS. Donor seating levels are described in detail on pages 12-13. All donations to Priority Basketball Seating are 80% tax deductible.
Golden Eagle Scholarship Fund — With the Athletic Department's additional need for private funding, a percentage of student-athlete scholarships need to be funded in order to be retained. The Golden Eagle Club is looking for donors who can make a scholastic impact both on an annual basis and for the creation of a Scholarship Endowment Program to provide scholarship support in perpetuity. All donations to the GESF are 100% tax deductible.
Champions Club — Champions Club gifts provide annual unrestricted support directly to the ORU Athletic Department. The revenue generated by the Champions Club is used at the discretion of the Athletic Director and approved by the Golden Eagle Club Board of Directors to fund various needs of the Athletic Department including capital projects. Membership to this group requires a $5,000 donation. All donations to the Champions Club are 100% deductible.
Basketball Enhancement Fund — Basketball Enhancement Fund gifts provide annual support directly to the men's basketball program for financial needs above and beyond the program's operating budget. All donations to the Basketball Enhancement Fund are 100% tax deductible.
Sports Program Giving — Philanthropic gifts to benefit ORU's sports programs truly do make a difference and are sincerely appreciated by the coaches and student-athletes. Many teams at Oral Roberts University rely on private support for locker room improvements, equipment purchases and many other expenses not covered in their operating budgets. All donations to Sports Program Giving are 100% tax deductible.
Capital Projects — The Golden Eagle Club provides substantial support for the construction and renovation of ORU's first class athletic facilities, as described in detail on pages 10-11. All donations to Capital Projects are 100% tax deductible.

Includes the baseball offices, Grand Slam Club, and a strength and conditioning center. Completed in 2005.
H.A. Chapman Practice Facility
Provides 36,000 square feet of turfed practice space for baseball, soccer, and track. Completed in 2009.

Case Soccer Complex
Includes a 1,000 seat stadium and press box, a practice field, and decorative wrought iron fencing . Completed in 2012.
J.L. Johnson Stadium Renovation
J.L. Johnson Stadium went through several renovations in time for the 2010 baseball season to modernize the exterior of the stadium. In 2012, the focus shifted to the interior of the stadium with construction of a hospitality room, a student-athlete academic area, locker room renovation , and a student-athlete lounge.

Basketball Premium and Priority Seating Information Donor Seating (Sections A-D & J-M) requires a per-seat donation to be given in addition to the season ticket price. A donation can be given at any level (Ultimate, Standard, Varsity) to qualify for donor seating. Priority seating donations will include both men’s and women’s basketball.

The following Q & A is intended to provide you with some general information regarding your participation as a Golden Eagle Club donor. Please contact the Golden Eagle Club staff for more information at 918495-6424. Q. When are season tickets and parking passes mailed? A. Golden Eagle Club information, as well as basketball tickets and priority parking passes are mailed in October. Baseball tickets and priority parking passes, available to Grand Slam Club members, are mailed in February. Q. Do I need to purchase a ticket for my child, even if they are in and out of their seat? A. All children above the age of two are required to have a ticket for admittance into the Mabee Center. Q. My company has a matching gift program. What do I need to do to make sure the matching gift is applied to my annual donation? A. Contact the Golden Eagle Club and we will assist you in your matching gift request. Your company’s matching gift form should be attached to your Golden Eagle Club donor form. Q. What is Golden Eagle Game Night? A. Golden Eagle Game Night is the reception served between the men’s and women’s basketball games in the Mabee Center South Lobby. Access is available to priority seating donors at the Ultimate level and above, as well as the Junior level. Q. How do I get Summit League and/or NCAA Tournament tickets? A. It is the goal of the Golden Eagle Club to offer an option to purchase tickets for post-season games to all donors and season ticket holders based on availability. Q. How do I improve my seat? A. For non Golden Eagle Club members, you can improve your seating location to one of the eight center sections (A-D, J-M) by providing a perseat donation as required by the Golden Eagle Club. For members already in priority seating wishing to change seat locations, contact the Golden Eagle Club at 918-495-6424 or indicate it on your order.

Donors agree to adhere to and abide by rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics as determined by the NCAA, the Summit League, and Oral Roberts University. If questions arise concerning the various rules and regulations, donors acknowledge that they should contact the ORU Athletic Compliance Office at 918-495-7095. Donors agree that should they be found by the NCAA or the University to have violated, knowingly or without regard for the same, rules or regulations, they may be disassociated from the University, athletics program and its activities. Donors can be expelled as a member of the Golden Eagle Club and will forfeit all benefits and privileges (including the right to receive priority season tickets and parking at specified athletic events) until the end of the period of disassociation and subsequent reinstatement by the Golden Eagle Club.
Tax Information If your contribution includes an option to purchase tickets, 80% of your gift is tax deductible. For 100% tax deductibility of your annual gift, you must decline your right to receive any benefits at the time you make your gift. This must be noted in writing or on the membership form. Only the individual or company making the gift is eligible to claim the tax deduction. Golden Eagle Club donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes. Gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
