WHO WE ARE OSCAR Foundation is a community based Sports for Development (S4D) organisation that uses the power of football to encourage children to stay in school and equip them with skills to make them resilient and future ready. Through our Football, Education and Young Leader programmes, we have empowered 15,000+ children and youth in lowincome communities in India since 2010.
MISSION We use the power of football and a network of Young Leaders to develop life skills and improve educational attainment for children from underprivileged communities in India
VISION A world where all children and youth have an equal opportunity to succeed
FOOTBALL AND LIFE SKILLS
OSCAR Foundation believes the core values inherent in football are principles necessary for community development. Based on our ‘No School, No Football’ policy, OSCAR Foundation provides football and life skills sessions to children from underprivileged backgrounds on the condition that they attend school regularly. Football and Life-Skills sessions are delivered based on an in-house curriculum that imparts socio-emotional learning, value education and physical activity.

SUPPORT PROJECTS FOOTBALL EXCELLENCE COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTRES ENABLING CHANGE YOUNG LEADERS
The Football Excellence Project aims to give talented young football players in Mumbai an opportunity to compete in All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) youth leagues. Any talented child from our programme is welcome to attend trials with the best players selected to represent our teams across various age groups.
COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTRE
Our Community Learning Centres (CLCs) promote digital literacy and provide access to computers for children living in low-income communities. OSCAR is committed to bridging the digital divide by offering a number of courses across age groups including a certification by the National Institute for Information Technology.
‘Enabling Change’ is our disability inclusion project aimed at helping children with disabilities participate in football and life skills sessions in a safe environment. We deliver specially designed activities keeping their needs in mind.
The Young Leader Project is a key ‘football for development’ initiative that is the foundation for the sustainability of our organisation. Youth from low-income communities including previous OSCAR participants are identified and trained to work with children from underprivileged communities. Since 2010, 800+ young leaders have been trained under this initiative across India.
