THE REHABILITATION OF THE STATION OF VAUGIRARD AND ITS SITE IN A learning center DEDICATED TO THE ecological TRANSITION The Small Belt, in Paris, constitutes an exceptional place. Its unpublished landscapes, its ecological qualities and the breath which it brings to the heart of one of the densest cities to the world are rare. To meet the needs of peace and serenity, I chose to insert the project into a park of the small belt situated near the door of Versailles, and more exactly by rehabilitating the former station of Vaugirard and its site. Paradoxically, the tranquillity of the place is contrasted with the strong activity of its district. Placed geographically as one clave in a very dense urban context, the ground is in town without being there really. The project suggests integrating the nature of the site while having a dialogue with its urban context. The center is dedicated to the co-creation of new tools for the energy and ecological transition. Through its architecture favoring the free movement and the informal interactions, the project proposes the passage of a former world towards a new one. The experience to be a member of a synergic mouvement, encouraging the inspiration, the co-creation and the sharing of innovative ideas.

After working on the principes of an ÂŤ essential space Âť, the project was to adapt them to an architectural

and urban problematic. The intention was to respond to a small town’s needs, Mortagne-au-Perches. After studying the site, I decided to do a center for independent seniors. Located on a site linking the city with the campaign, the project merges in its environment by integrating the following orientation of the slope. The main artery has the function of a

pedestrian street and leads to a public space. The privat circulation within the project is divided into three corridors that distribute horizontally all pavilions. The 33 units are designed for 4 types of occupants : couples, individuals, disabled, and students.

The topic proposed for this project was to create a spiritual center in an abandoned square in the 10th district of Paris. The choice of Theosophy has emerged because it is not a religion, so it allowed me a great freedom, both in the form and the concept. I worked on the analogy between literary sources and architecture. The main elements of the program are in the basement, they are hidden from the neighbourhood in order to give a secret dimension to the project. The mineral aspect represented by the shape, materials and the use of water, creates a strong

The contrast between straight and organic forms is represented by the dynamic of the house that

connects the ground to the air. The horizon is hosted in the living room by a fracture that makes main part of the house.

confused with a cloud, or a wave, depending which point of view on over the site. Brightness is mainly provided by a south facing glass.

The architecture is discovered in the same time as

the deconnection from the city. The route takes, in both projects, into a meditation space, on the floor (model 1) or on the top of the arches of the structure (model 2). Both models are inspired by the golden ratio, one is developed on a vertical plan, and the other one on a horizontal plan.

Chameleon house’s disappearance

Inside view

Home catalog is a concept of house’s standardization. It is supposed to answer to a simple program for a family. Here, the site is not taken into account, the interest is mainly functionality. The house becomes like any other product. Chameleon house adapts to any site, it blends into its environment. The skin of the house is chosen to enhance the inside. The volume protects its occupants from the outside while nature is contemplated from the inside. The nature’s fracture is the only natural source of light. View on the fracture

The project was mainly oriented around the circulations in a public building. Circulations in the building are symmetrical, divided initially between

men on one side and women on the other. Then in a second step, the symmetry no longer exists, both men and women find themselves in spaces where generated by sensual baths, where the
