In business, employers cannot afford wasting time and affecting the productivity of their workers. There are several factors that influence the employee’s level of motivation and performance, one of which is the design of their physical work environment. Studies show that a well-designed workplace radiates positive atmosphere. A positive atmosphere, in turn, leads to increased productivity, more effort and less stress.

Relation of well-designed office and increased productivity The office design is defined as the arrangement of the working area so that duties and responsibilities can be performed in the most efficient way. This is why it is important to keep the space of employees pleasing and comfortable. Like what Gary Wheeler said, “Workplace design should enable clients to do their jobs easily, remain flexible so that end users can adjust the space according to their particular work style and be adaptable so that it can work well into the future.” Other employers still find this doubtful, but many others have proven its effectiveness. The surroundings – from the colour of the wall to the lighting, from the space to the arrangement of all tables and chairs –can change the way an employee thinks, behaves and works.

Areas that need improvement Here are some ways a business can improve the comfort level of the office to increase the productivity of the people who work in it.

Partitioning –There are different forms of distraction and this includes employees who love to drop by an area to say hello and tell story for some time. If the office does not have dividers, the tendency of unwelcome guests and noise is unavoidable. Partition imposes privacy and authority. Space – If an employee does not have enough space to move, this could be a cause for distraction or even frustration. Make sure to provide enough space. Lighting – Studies suggest that natural light increases productivity, energy and creativity. Use brighter lights to create better mood. A wise employer knows that the key to success is to provide the needs of their employees. Well-taken cared employees work their best to repay their boss.
