Horsemanship Committee
Welcome to the 2018 Little, Jr, and Miss Silver Spurs Pageant
when you’re tired, when it’s not convenient, and when life needs your attention. You all are so uniquely talented and have amazing heart! I’m truly blessed to work alongside you.
Can you believe that this year marks 58 years of the Miss Silver Spurs Pageant? A lot has changed over the years: the arena, the stage, the music, and oh yes, the fashion! Thinking back on the traditions of this amazing program and the lives of all the young ladies it has enriched over nearly 6 decades, it’s truly remarkable. I’m so honored to have the privilege of being a part something so positive and encouraging for these girls. Where else can you learn, not to mention at such a young age, what a successful interview looks like and actually get to practice that in front of committee members and successful business owners? Our pageant is financed by our sponsors and also by the program book ads the girls sell. They approach friends, family, and businesses and ask for a sale, something many adults would find intimidating! They also prepare a speech and study our Rodeo’s history to be ready for any and all questions the judges, and potentially, rodeo spectators and media may ask them. Can you imagine if you had those same opportunities at that age? How valuable is such an experience at such a young age! We get feedback, sometimes years after a contestant competes. We have heard of former contestants who have never lost a job interview. We’ve heard of teenagers who competed in little miss and used the interview skills they learned to earn a place on a sports team. We’ve had girls that were once shy and timid that now walk with confidence. It’s so rewarding to see all of this unfold.
Thank you to our Pageant Sponsors and program ad buyers. You have no idea how much your support means. This pageant wouldn’t be in existence without you. You have no idea how much of a difference you are making in the lives of these girls. for opening yourselves up to a new experience. You all have so much talent and heart and it has been so fun watching you spread those butterfly wings and fly! You are all so unique and have so much to offer!
On behalf of the Pageant Committee and Silver Spurs Riding Club, we sincerely hope that you will enjoy this year’s pageant and come see your newly elected queens and their courts at the Silver Spurs Rodeo!
Current queens and courts, this year has been such a fun adventure and I’m so glad I got to know each and every one of you better. I truly cannot wait to see what God has in store for all of you. You all have grown in so many ways this year, and I’m so thankful that I had a front row seat to watch you blossom.
Sincerely,
To the Pageant Committee, who works tirelessly to put everything they have into these girls and into the Rodeo, thank you. Thank you for pressing on when it’s difficult,
Parents, thank you for allowing your girls to be a part of this program. Girls, thank you

2018 Program Tribute would not be what it is today. We are forever grateful to have had these amazing women serve in our club. Tonight, you will learn more about three of these lovely, hardworking ladies from our Miss Silver Spurs contestants.
This year our pageant theme is “If These Spurs Could Talk”. This theme was chosen to bring the history of rodeo and The Silver Spurs Riding Club to our contestants in a fun, creative, and more personal way. What better way to do this than learning from some of our very own Women’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. This award was established to honor members who have dedicated their time and efforts to keep the Silver Spurs Rodeo and Osceola County’s ranching history alive. It is the Miss Silver Spurs Pageant Committee’s honor to dedicate this program book to these ladies. In 1992, the Silver Spurs Riding Club honored its first Women’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Mrs. Carrie Whaley. The women who have been honored to receive this award have volunteered countless hours over the years to ensure the success of the Silver Spurs Rodeo. They have sold t-shirts in the souvenir booth, sold food in the concession stands, worked the ticket booth, sold program books, along with numerous other jobs. Without the tireless efforts of these women our Silver Spurs Rodeo

Within 2 years of graduating she owned her own salon in Wauchula. She met her husband Jimmy, in Athens, Georgia in 1984, at a pro rodeo. Come to find out they lived only 20 miles apart and had never met. They have been married 33 years and live in Arcadia, Florida where they have raised two sons, Jamie and Corey. They live on a ranch raising cattle, horses and produce jigs grass hay. They also own
Fussells Meats, LLC which has been in Jimmy’s family over 60 years. She is a WPRA Gold Card member and served on the Board of Directors from 2007-2011, as Southeastern Circuit Director. MISS SILVER SPURS 2017
Lacie Stark
It seems like yesterday I was a little toeheaded, wild-child covered in dirt, with my hair a mess running around the rodeo in 2002. The old Silver Spurs had been torn down and the new Silver Spurs was under construction with the rodeos being hosted at the Kissimmee Sports Arena. Sixteen years later, here I am, the reigning Miss Silver Spurs. As I take a trip down memory lane I can’t help but reminisce on the good old days. How at the tender age of 2, I climbed up high in the saddle on the back of my first horse. From this day forward, this meant that my papa would have to teach me not only to ride, but how to be a cowgirl. Any time I fell off, papa
would always say, “if you fall, get back on again, because cowgirls don’t cry.” When I was 5, I joined the Silver Spurs Pee Wee Quadrille team and boy was that fun. I began competing for the coveted titles for the Little, Junior and Miss Silver Spurs courts when I was just 10 and it took more than one attempt to reach my goal of becoming Miss Silver Spurs. Over the last 13 years I have worked hard at becoming a rodeo queen. I have also been a member of the Quadrille team and served as a flag girl during rodeo performances. I only wish I had the time to tell you about all the memories made at Quadrille practices in Kenansville. Last year, I was blessed beyond belief and achieved my childhood dream of becoming Miss Silver Spurs. I was even more honored to be awarded
22
FAREWELL FROM LACIE the Bill Aileen-Chapman Horsemanship award and the Miss Photogenic award. However, this dream would not have been possible without my amazing family and friends. This past year, I have shared countless laughs with my court, Kaitlin, Hallie, Macie, Bailee, and Kaydynce. These girls sure know how to keep the moment alive no matter what the setting. Mom, Dad, Justin, Ninnie, Papa, Tyler, Makayla, Sorrel, Clay, Kate, Kyle, and Ryatt, you have no idea how grateful I am for you all. I can’t tell you all just how much I love you and cannot thank you enough for the faith, support and guidance you continue to provide, and for being my biggest cheerleaders through my rodeo queen journey. To Harper and Wylder, although you were not yet born, when I was crowned, you have both made me the happiest Aunt ever and I can’t wait ‘til you both want to run for Little Miss Silver Spurs!! To my Queen Mom Liz, where do I even begin. You have blessed me in more ways than one. Most of all, I want to thank you for never giving up on me even when I wanted to give up on myself. Looking back over this past year, there have been good times, and even some not so good times. In September, I was blessed to have survived
a serious car accident, but that would not stop me from participating in the October Rodeo. I did have to ride with two different styles of boots, but when you’re a Rodeo Queen, a girl will do what a girl must do! I will truly miss representing the Silver Spurs Club as Miss Silver Spurs, but I look forward to mentoring other young women from all over, in the sport of rodeo. As for my future, I am currently pursuing a career in Cosmetology that will enable me to help prepare future rodeo queens. While I may not be wearing a crown at the next rodeo, I will still be a part of the Silver Spurs Riding Club and continue to be an active member and rodeo participant. Thank you for the honor of being, your 2017 Miss Silver Spurs.

JUNIOR MISS SILVER SPURS 2017
Hallie McTyre
Wow, what a year this has been. I remember standing on this stage, one year ago, being crowned as Junior Miss Silver Spurs 2017. Throughout my year, I have had the opportunity to meet many new faces and many other girls who shared the same passion I did: being a rodeo queen. The week of the February rodeo, over 25 rodeo queens from all over the country came to have some fun with my other Spurs Queens and I. It was a week I will never forget; from gator-wrestling to trips to the beach! I also got to be a part of numerous events in Osceola County. A very special event I had the honor of going to was the Leslie Burnette Benefit and support Mrs. Leslie Burnette as she was battling cancer. She is now cancerfree. God is good! I went to parades, press events, rodeos here and there, and school visits.
Before my reign comes to an end, I would love to give a thank you to those who hold a special place in my heart. To Mrs. Tiffany Chapman, thank you for being the best queen coordinator ever. To Mrs. Tihler, thank you for making sure that we know where we need to be and when we need to be there and for always ensuring that we do our best and look our best. To Ms. Kerri Deland, for the countless times of you running horses everywhere for me, thank you. To Mrs. Debora Whaley, thank you for preparing me to become a rodeo queen. From my first pageant in 2015, to becoming Junior Miss Silver Spurs 2017. To Maci, Kaydynce, and Kaitlin, thank
24
FAREWELL FROM HALLIE you for being the greatest of friends through it all. To Lacie and Bailee, what a year we have had. Thank you for all the great times, laughs, and everything y’all have done for me. To Bailee, a.k.a. Billy, you have been by my side for many years. My cheerleading buddy, my stay-up all night writing speeches and doing mock interviews friend, and most importantly, my sister, thank you. To Lacie, a.k.a. Lexie, you are beautiful inside and out. It’s going to be hard for someone to fill those boots as you’ve shown what a true rodeo queen is. Thank you for being a great role model and a sister to me. To my best friend Brinley, thank you for the laughs, fun trips, and awesome birthdays. Gosh, it’s hard to believe that we’ve been best friends for almost nine years, man does time fly when you’re having fun. Thank you to my cousin Abbie for showing me what a true cowgirl is. I love the many shopping trips we go on and the Tijuana Flats runs. To my mom and dad, y’all have supported me through everything. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. I have been blessed by God in many ways wearing this crown and for the next girl to fill these boots, hold on tight because the journey you are about to experience will be the time of your life! Now, I’m officially signing off as your 2017 Junior Miss Silver Spurs, so, thank you everyone and have a great night!
Hallie McTyre

I am the secretary for my 4H Club, Ewe Neek Country Kids, and the proud holder of the 2017 Junior Hog Showmanship Grand Champion for the Osceola County Livestock Show and Fair. I am a straight A student at Harmony Elementary School, an All-Star Softball Player, Disney Dreamer and Doer Nominee and a District Champion Youth Cheerleader. I’m truly blessed to be well rounded in both academics and athletics.
Florida Sweetheart 1st Runner Up and Miss Photogenic. I am beyond thankful for all the memories I have made over the past year. Each rodeo, event and fundraiser that I took part in was truly a life experience that I will always hold near and dear to my heart.
Now for some big THANK YOU’S! To my sponsors, Lynch Oil, Fat Boy’s BBQ of St. Cloud, B&B Promotions, and Aunt Franny thank you for always supporting me and being there for me. Diamond P Equestrian Center, thank you
I began my rodeo queen career in 2014, when I was honored to be Miss Rodeo Florida Sweetheart 1st Runner Up, Miss Photogenic and Horsemanship Winner and in 2015, I was again grateful to be named the Miss Rodeo

FAREWELL FROM BAILEE Aunt Christine and Angel for lending Diamond for me to ride and all your riding advice and support, I love you so much! Lacie and Halie, our uncontrollable laughs, inside jokes and the support we gave each other will never be forgotten, I will cherish it forever, thank you girls for making this year so great! To the entire Pageant Committee, Silver Spurs Club, Miss Tiffany, Tihler, and Ya-Ya (Heather Burns), thank you for all you do. The time you give to this pageant and to us Queenies, as you liked to call us, is so greatly appreciated, thank you for all your hard work. Allyson Moore, thank you for always being there for me, teaching me all what I know today, and for being the best big sister. Ryleigh Tyson, thank you for all your rodeo queen advice. I’m proud to have filled the boots you once wore. To Miss Martha… Granny, thank you for everything, from head to toe, you made this little queen look and feel beautiful inside and out!
This was a big job, and one I will hold near to my heart forever, the friendships and memories I have made will last a lifetime. I’ve got Wide Open Spaces, and I can’t wait to see what my future will hold when I turn my cants into cans and my dreams into plans!
Bailee Jeannin
My mom, thank you for the many miles you drove, the 940 curls you curled, support, love and always making me look “Spot On”, I Love You! To my dad and bub, thank you for always being my #1 fans, I love you both so much. Oh and I can’t forget, a big thank you for putting up with me and Mom during “getting ready time”.
