THE GAME DAY GAZETTE
Following two disappointing losses, the Generals will welcome the last-place Niagara IceDogs into town for a Family Day Monday matinee.
Closing out the weekend with a win would be huge for the Generals, especially after dropping both other games this weekend, 5-2 to the 67’s and 5-4 to the Storm via a shootout. Despite the losses, Oshawa hasn’t dropped out of the playoff push very much at all, still sitting tied with the Wolves for 8th in the eastern conference, and within striking distance of the Kingston Frontenacs for 7th.
Niagara comes into Oshawa on a high, defeating the Sudbury Wolves yesterday afternoon 6-2. It was just their 11th victory of the season. Former General Daniel Michaud had two points in the win, while IceDogs netminder Owen Flores topped 49/51 shots he faced for the win.
Last Meeting:
This is the second and last time these two teams will meet this season, with the Generals taking the only other clash way back on October 7th, 6-3. The trio of Calum Ritchie, Dylan Roobroeck, and Cameron Butler each had three points in the win, while former General Patrick Leaver was in net, stopping 32/35. Former General David Jesus did have one point in the loss.
Players To Watch
Stuart Rolofs Daniel Michaud Ryder Mcintyre
Since his promotion to the top-six forward lines, Ryder McIntyre has been on fire. McIntyre has become more noticeable on the ice, and for all of the right reasons. He’s consistently the first in on a dumped puck, and applying a heavy forecheck onto his opponents. McIntyre has 12 points on the season since coming over from the Sarnia Sting, and two of his five goals have come in the last three games.

Climbing his way up the team scoring rankings is #89 Stuart Rolofs. He added another goal on Saturday night against the Storm, his career-best 24th of the season. In his last five games, Rolofs has scored five goals and added two assists. With his point on Saturday night, Rolofs also reached a new career-high in points with 46.
Generals fans will recognize this name, as Michaud is a former General who was traded to the IceDogs at the deadline last season. This year, Michaud has finally found his groove with the IceDogs, leading the team in scoring with 40 points, one point more than teammate Zachary Lavoie. This season, Michaud has 18 goals and 22 assists, good for career highs in both categories. Look for Michaud to make his former team pay tonight if the IceDogs are to take down the Generals.
