Key Club to me has always been such an amazing organization. From the start, I knew there was something special about this club. Although I may have started my journey mainly for the social aspects, I’ve come to learn that Key Club is more than just friendships.
Key Club indeed fulfilled my social desires, but I also realized that it’s taught me lifelong lessons that are applicable not only to my home, school, and community but also to help me serve my nation and world. Throughout my journey in Key Club, I’ve got the opportunity to meet many different types of people with all different types of stories.
While Key Club has aided me in bonding with my academic roots, it’s also given me an outlet to connect with my cultural roots. Through an organization called Allies, I’ve been able to pack boxes of donated material that are then shipped to orphanages in the very country that my parents came from. Knowing my service is benefitting one of the places that deserve it most has been so rewarding. I live with pride at the fact I can be of such service on such an international scale.
