Dino Rock House with six dinosaurs
Brontosaurus – orange also known as Apatosaurus
Tyrannosaurus – green
Brontosaurus was an enormous monster with four legs, a long, graceful neck and an even longer tail, which it dragged through the swamps. “Thunder Lizard” is the perfect name for a dinosaur that, due to its enormous weight, made the ground shake at every step!
Diplodocus – yellow
The Diplodocus lived at the end of the Jurassic period and is most probably the longest of all dinosaurs, measuring 27metres from head to tail. This creature moved very slowly as it was not only long but also very heavy, weighing 27 tons – almost as much as a large truck
Stegosaurus – light blue
Stegosaurus dinosaurs lived around 155 million years ago during the Jurassic period and were first discovered in 1877 by Othniel Charles Marsh. He called the Stegosaurus a “Roofed Lizard” after the protective armoured plates it carried on its back.
Tyrannosaurus Rex is believed to have been the largest, most aggressive, terrifying dinosaurs that roamed the planet around 68 million years ago. No wonder it was named “Tyrant Lizard” when it was discovered in 1902.
Triceratops – grey
First discovered in 1887 near Denver in Colorado Triceratops was originally believed to have been an unusual form of bison but scientists soon confirmed that it was indeed a dinosaur that lived over 68 million years ago. The name – “Three-horned Face”– is derived from its three horns – two real horns plus a third filled with soft proteins.
Velociraptor – royal blue
This relatively small dinosaur is regarded as more of a scavenger than a hunter and was always on the lookout for small mammals, reptiles and insects to feed on. It was just over 3 feet high and is often referred to as the turkey of the dinosaurs because of its size and feathers. Its name means “Speedy Thief”.
