MUDDY WHEELS
WE ARE READY! ARE YOU?
That winter cool breeze is in the air, we can smell the snow getting ready to fall. How can you not look forward to winter riding? Yes, it’s colder, but still amazing.
Our Fall riding season is winding down, and we can smell the snow coming. With the arrival of the colder mornings and the limited hours of daylight, it’s obvious that the good fall riding is behind us. It seems like some of my friends are more “fair weather maidens” than the tough hardcore off-road enthusiasts that they portray to be when the temps drop.
While riding isn’t as favorable at this time of year, it’s still is one of my favorite times. Most of the group I ride with shift gears Nov 1st and instead of riding before Christmas we spend a little more time in the garage. We meet up at one of our garages before the snow arrives to keep the usual trail side chatter going of what vehicles are good which are not, what accessories are must haves, on sale, good buy or overpriced and must leave on the shelf, etc. These conversations all take place while we are making our rides a little more winter friendly with various tasks ranging from winch maintenance to cab installs, and Ten keeps asking me for Heated Seats.
If you haven’t begun winter-ready maintenance on your ATV or side-by-side yet, you still have a little time, but don’t leave it to winter break, start yesterday!
The boom of off-road vehicle sales last year, and now the abrupt supply chain slowdowns, our usual general easy to find off-road accessories have been at times Out of Stock. Stock at dealers and retailers has been slim, with much on back-order and unfortunately it doesn’t sound like we’ll be back on track soon enough. In Canada, there is going to be more delays with the effected rail and truck routes further slowing the flow of product to consumers. In short, if you need something soon get it now or at the very least have your dealer or retailer order it for you.
Until the next time, I hope the snow arrives for Christmas, and I hope you’re ready for it. The weather forecasters across North America (who are never wrong…) say that we can expect more snow than usual this winter thanks to the development and arrival of “La Nina”. Remember to shop early for your Holiday Gift List, and nothing says I love you, quite like a snowplow with a bow on it under the tree, and if a belt doesn’t fit in the stocking, get a bigger stocking!
