THIS IS A BAD IDEA
We don’t understand how someone every thought that this would pass any transportation authority or police figure and not be pulled over. A local police officer from Quebec found a Mazda 3 with an ATV strapped to its roof. Maybe if the ATV was more securely fastened and held down with more than one strap which ran through the Mazda’s windows, the motorist could avoided being pulled over. No word on how they loaded or unloaded the ATV.
NEW OFF-ROAD VEHICLE
The odd looking and relatively confusing Shadow Six Typhoon vehicle isn’t sure if it’s a watercraft or Side-by-Side. The online video showed us it’s actually a side-by-side body with working suspension on two watercrafts and is designed for marine use only. Manufactured only using the top shelf of materials such as aerospace titanium and carbon fiber and is powered by two supercharged Yamaha 1800 R’s pushing out a combined 500HP. Making this vehicle a beast on the water. Rumor has it that the 2,360 pound plus vehicle will be able to top 80 with a go faster kit from Riva Racing. If you can’t imagine it then we’re pretty sure your bank account won’t be able to imagine the $250k US price tag either.
POLARIS LAUNCHES RZR IN INDIA
Polaris India recently announced the launch of the RZR Pro R Sport, which is big news as it will be the company’s flag ship off-road vehicle. For those of you not in the know, the Pro R Sport comes to market with Polaris’s 1997cc inline four featuring 225HP. The set price will be at Rs 59 lakh. Which doesn’t sound like a lot if you are familiar with the currency. We typed the amount into our computer and it came back at over $95,000 in Canadian dollars. We wonder if we made a mistake in our conversion.

VOLCON GETS WITH GM
GM announced it will provide electric motors and other components to Volcon for their new battery-electric Stag UTV. The American automaker will supply various EV components to Volcon through this new partnership, including motors, high voltage power distribution modules, motor inverters, onboard charging modules, DC converters, EV control modules, torque controls, battery high voltage connectors and battery cooling reservoirs. If you’re not aware the Volcon Stag is an all-wheel-drive UTV that produces 125 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. If that doesn’t seem like enough for your thirst for power. There is an optional “over boost mode” accessory that will increase the horsepower to 140. If you are interested in a Stag get the vault ready as pricing starts at $39,999. That includes all the standard equipment including a dualmotor GM powertrain, adjustable shocks, a digital dash display and a center stack infotainment display. Volcon says not to let the big price tag discourage you from ownership as it will boast a much lower cost of ownership than comparable gasoline powered UTV, as the closed electric motor setup does not require oil changes, filter changes and belt changes, and there’s no transmission or transmission fluid to worry about, either…

YOUR GO-TO SHOP FOR HUGE RIDE AND HANDLING IMPROVEMENTS What makes the shocks so good?
Aluminium bodies with tough hard anodizing on inside bore reduces wear and resulting contamination this leads to a longer service life and more stable performance over that service life
Dual rate springs permit 1 - Soft top travel = better comfort, reduced steering effort, reduced left-right bobbling and dramatically improved tire grip as each tire can articulate much easier. 2 - stronger bottom travel = improved safety and greatly reduced bottoming which permits faster, safer operation with less chassis kick. Basically the window of operation is WAY bigger than with the stock shocks.
Extra large 16mm, 19mm and 22mm shafts (depending on body size) displaces more oil for better damping control
Stage 2, 4 & 5 models with rebound adjuster allow you to match the tire recovery to the speed you are going. Rebound control in the rear greatly reduces seat kick on a big bump.
POWERSPORTS INSTALLATION + SET-UP SPECIALISTS
Stage 3,4 & 5 models with compression adjuster for comfort and anti bottoming control.
Low-friction internal piston to separate oil from nitrogen for a highly responsive ride
Stage 3, 4 & 5 models have an external reservoir with added oil volume for more consistent action and extended service intervals

GOOD NEWS IN IOWA
The summer of 2022 will go down in the books as ATVs and UTVs will be able to roll down any of Iowa’s 99 counties. With this good news there are still some restrictions. Both ATVs and Side-bySides be limited to 35 miles an hour and will need to have all their lights working with a horn, installed mirrors and of course have insurance and the operator will require valid driver’s license. The biggest restriction is that these off-road vehicles will not be permitted on any our lane highways.

COLLABORATION BETWEEN BFGOODRICH AND VOLCON
The two companies are coming together to potentially build a tire, tire monitoring system, tire pressure system and a vehicle suspension system that will make driving an electric side-by-side that much better. All of these systems are not only being developed for ride quality but to also extend the vehicle’s range. A major hold up for many EV purchases is the vehicles range. Michelin North America will also be the tire supplier of all 2023 Stag LE models.

CRUSHING SHAME
The mayor of New York city, Eric Adams had a destruction party of more than 2000 confiscated non-street legal dirt bikes, motorcycles, side-by-sides and ATVs. These 2000 vehicles were confiscated from only January 1, 2022, which was an astonishing increase of 80% from year to date. In a video the mayor had a checkered flag which he waved that started the vehicle crushing by way of a massive bulldozer. It’s surprising and many feel like it is a real missed opportunity, that these vehicles could not have been auctioned off and sold intact or parted out by the city to raise funds and donated to numerous causes in New York City.
