Located in Costa Rica’s yoga and surfing capital, this beach house looks out to the entire Guiones cost. Placed in a privileged location on the mountain, it is bathed in sunlight all day long with views to amazing sunsets, and just a few steps away from the sand. This 630 m2 (6780 sf) house was a major renovation. The client wanted to open the existing house to the ocean views, so the he could see the waves from his office and know when it was time to take a break and surf. The main entry shows a huge wooden gable that flies over the main door, exhibiting the detailed woodwork in the house. The house opens to a double height living room where the main character is the sun in the coast. The entire back façade is glass to appreciate the landscape throughout the house.

The up growing eco-tourism Costa Rica it’s being through in the latest years has developed the opportunity to embrace all the domestic flights in a dedicated terminal outside the international one, with the goal in mind to give a better level of service for all the people that’s looking for a natural experience, people that wants to visit volcanos, lakes, tropical forests and beaches, some things why the country is well known worldwide. Thanks to the project’s location, the building will be the first facility into the airport campus that will be seeing not only by all tourists getting to the airport, but also for all the people going to Alajuela from San José, Costa Rica’s second city in importance. That being said, the real challenge was to design a project that blends contemporary & tropical design into a building that will be the main façade for all the airport facility and the first lobby for all the country’s natural exuberances. Departures, arrivals and support spaces have place into one single level in this 1600 m2 (17 222 sf) project where concrete, metal panels, wood, and a natural touch by all gardens and green walls are the main characters.

â&#x20AC;&#x153;Limon city portâ&#x20AC;? was the name chosen for a visionary selected engineering and architectural projects that will push this region into a higher economic and touristic level. The city hall, one of this projects, needed a new facility where tradition and contemporary architectural design talk to each other and come up with a new building. As a result was proposed a 2500 m2 (26 910 sf) of offices divided between 4 stories plus more than 1000 m2 (10764 sf) of public space, plazas and retail stores. The main projectâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s objective was to give to Limon community a city hall building that includes vernacular elements translated to contemporary architectural language and more important than this, give to Limon a flexible facility that can be use by the locals for art, sports, cultural or any other activities no matter if work hours were done.

Among the coffee plantation area in Costa Rica, an investment group decided to develop a residential area with a contemporary design that brings to the current days the identity of the good old days in the coffee industry.
