around the country as part of the Amazon Goes Gold program and was also attended by representatives from the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). “We are incredibly honored to have hosted children and their families from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and are truly thankful for all Children battling cancer at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital attended Camp Amazon last month where they participated in STEM activities at Amazon’s Ruskin fulfillment center.
they do to support children in our community,” said Rob Packett, director of operations at Amazon’s Ruskin fulfillment center. “With Camp Amazon, we hope to provide young people with the tools and resources they need to build, imagine and innovate.” The donation is one of many that Amazon makes to select charities and organizations throughout the year. “According to the American Childhood Cancer Organization, childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children in the United States, yet there’s a disparity between the amount of federal funding for childhood cancer research and adult cancer research,” said Painter, who explained that Amazon wants to help rectify that. Amazon’s Tampa Fulfillment Center is located at 3350 Laurel Ridge Ave. in Ruskin. For more information on Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, visit www.hopkinsallchildrens.org.
The 30-acre Riverview 14 theater project between I-75 and the Wal-Mart Super Center is now in its second year and construction is starting to take off again. “In addition to the Riverview 14 Theater and Features Gastropub that opened March 2017, the Zaxby’s Chicken that opened April 2017 and the Dunkin/T-Mobile building that opened June of 2017, we are pleased to announce that we have several new businesses coming to the project,” reported Terry Benton, vice president of real estate for Strathmore Development. The new phase of development includes a 21,700-sq.-ft. strip center, a new 120-room Extended Stay America national hotel that will break ground this fall and a new national sit-down restaurant to be announced soon. “We continue to hear from other local businesses and area residents that the area south of the Alafia River really could use a new hotel. So, we listened to the market,” said Benton. “The folks in the Riverview/Gibsonton/FishHawk area keep asking us for more stores and services closer to home or in their daily traffic pattern when using the I-75 interchange.” Land clearing is near completion on the 2.4-acre parcel south of the T Mobile store and construction is starting on a 21,700-sq.-ft.multi-tenant building that will face the Wal-Mart Super Center. Current signed tenants include Dollar Tree, LA Nails and Four Stacks Brewery. Benton noted that the 10,000 sq. ft. Dollar Tree that will serve as the anchor will be the store’s latest prototype and that Dollar Tree will vacate its existing store on the southeast corner of Boyette Rd. and U.S. 301 in the former WinnDixie Plaza. This will be the second south Hillsborough location for Four Stacks Brewery owners Nathan and Heather Hangen. The new Four Stacks will be
larger than their Apollo Beach location as it will include a nearly 2,000-sq.-ft outdoor patio or “beer garden” as well as 2,100 sq. ft. of climate-controlled indoor space. There still is one more space for lease available, according to Benton. Along with the building development, Benton said that there also will be three new multi-tenant signs erected on the perimeter of the property, including a 50ft. pylon sign adjacent to I-75. For leasing information, call Benton at 517-664-4128.

Amazon’s Ruskin fulfillment center hosted some important visitors last month. Children battling cancer at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and their families visited the center for Camp Amazon, a hands-on robotics day camp, as part of Amazon’s month-long national campaign to raise awareness about childhood cancer. During the camp, the children participated in hands-on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities including building and testing their own robot cars. “They were treated to a behind-thescenes tour of the center and watched how Amazon associates work along side robotics to pick, pack and ship customer orders,” said Media Representative Lauren Painter, who added that each child also took home a small box of STEM toys. At the end of the camp, Amazon made a donation of $10,000 to the pediatric oncology department at the hospital. “So that every child will an opportunity to pursue their passions,” said Painter. Twin Lakes Presents Its 9th Annual Art In The Park This October
By Kathy L. Collins
Everyone is welcome to come to Zenia Park in the community of Twin Lakes in Valrico as they host the 9th Art in the Park on Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Twin Lakes in Valrico will host its Ninth Annual Art In The Park on Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Art in the Park is set to take place in the beautiful Zenia Park, home of gigantic and beautiful old oak trees. Twin Lakes is located east of Lithia Pinecrest Rd. at the end of Bloomingdale Ave. The event is open and free to the community. Both artists and vendors of all kinds are encouraged to attend and share their creativity with the community. Artists and vendors can set up space anywhere within the 11-acre park. A fee of $10 is charged to nonresidents to offset the cost of hosting the arts event. However, there is no charge for Twin Lakes residents. Vendors must bring all of their supplies, including table, chairs and tent

(not required). Electricity is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. This is a great bargain for artists and vendors. Joanne Bialas, President of the Twin Lakes of Brandon HOA said, “Last year, we had a food truck and vendors ranging from pallet art and painted wine bottles to Scentsy and Lue La Roe. We wound up with a little over 40 tables out in our beautiful park, and it was a lovely fall day to enjoy the atmosphere. We are hoping to have the same or more this year. The registrations from artists and vendors keep coming in. Our hope is that everyone who comes out finds a little something to take home.” Bialas added, “We continue to offer all Twin Lakes residents tables at no charge and only $10 to anyone else interested in showcasing their art. This charge helps to cover the cost of the port-o-potty out in the park. The HOA is not trying to make money but provide a venue for all of the residents of Twin Lakes to enjoy. We invite all of the surrounding communities to come out and enjoy the event with us.” Zenia Park is a perfect venue for an art festival of this kind. It is shady and beautiful and filled with oaks that are over 100 years old.

Invisible Braces Are New To Growing SouthShore Orthodontics Practice
By Stacy Huisman
Dr. Matt Ahrens, DMS and his staff at SouthShore Orthodontics
Southshore Orthodontics offers a new technology option for patients needing braces. Dr. Matt Aherns DMD, owner of SouthShore Orthodontics, has added a new product call Inbrace to his inventory for patients who need braces, but do not want the look or feel of traditional braces. Inbrace are invisible braces that are attached to the lingual or inside of the your teeth. “Invisible braces are ideal for older teens, adults and athletes,” says Lisa Cramp, Officer Manager at Southshore Orthodontics. “A patient smiles and no one knows they have braces. Athletes don’t have to worry about cuts and injuries typical braces can cause. Plus, nothing to remove either so it’s low maintenance.” Inbrace runs in line with other orthodontic solutions like braces with clear brackets and Invisalign. These invisible braces also require the same treatment time as traditional braces and Invisalign. Dr. Aherns offers multiple solutions and options for his patients. Southshore Orthodontics believes
in finding the right fit and product for their patients. They strive for patient satisfaction. With the state of the art technology, Dr. Aherns believes building a relationship with his patients is the key to a successful practice. “We see patients for six months to two years of treatment. We want them to be happy and comfortable with their care. We believe in building a good relationship with the people we treat, that’s our reward.” SouthShore Orthodontics has been open for more than three and a half years, but he has been practicing well over five years in the area. Dr. Aherns and his wife, Sarah, are native Floridians and met while both were in school at University of Florida. Sarah is a dental hygienist and the face of the business. She networks with other offices and dental practices in the area, keeping up with the latest business models and services. Dr. Aherns is a member of the Smiles Change Lives program. This community-based orthodontic program is designed to promote increased selfesteem and improved oral health for children in need of orthodontic treatment whose families cannot afford the full cost of braces. SouthShore Orthodontics is located at 13135 Kings Lake Dr. #103 in Gibsonton. To find out more, call 8150080 or visit www.southshoreortho.com.

School Bus Drivers Needed
Hillsborough County Public School District (HCPS) is looking for dedicated and compassionate professionals looking to make a positive difference in its schools and its community. HCPS is seeking individuals who share its commitment to safely drive the students to and from school. Each school day, more than 90,000 Hillsborough County students board school buses to travel to and from school. The yellow bus is an icon of public education and far more than just a ride. In truth, it provides a gateway to education for students all over the county that otherwise would not get to and from school. Dr. Priya Reddy M.D. FACR Board Certified Rheumatologist The Campo Family YMCA hosted Mother and Son Nerf and Ninjas night to a sold out crowd last month.
On a Saturday night last month, the Campo Family YMCA in Valrico was overrun by nerf gun wielding ninjas. And their moms. The YMCA hosted its first Mother and Son Nerf and Ninjas night on Saturday, September 8 to a sold out crowd of 112 mother-son groups with children ranging from 5-12 years old. “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to bring families together and we couldn’t be happier with the turnout and success of this event,” said Campo Center Executive Director Jarrod Williams. Participants navigated a Ninja Course, battled in several rounds of Nerf Wars, made Ninja-themed crafts and refueled with snacks and refreshments. Children were divided by age and rotated between three stations and moms were encouraged to participate, especially in the nerf battles. “I recommend this event to anyone who wants to have fun,” said 10year-old FishHawk resident Will Olver, who attended the event with his mom and brother. “It was all fun,
but the best part was definitely shooting my mom.” T-shirts were available for purchase and the YMCA provided all nerf bullets for the event. “Our plan is to make this an annual event that mothers and sons alike can look forward to,” said Williams. “We are going to debrief, collect feedback and discuss ways to make Nerf and Ninja Night bigger and better. If anyone has any ideas, we would love to hear them.” Six-year-old Gunner Olver offered his feedback, which was only positive. “I loved the ninja course,” he said. “I wish I could do it
all the time.” The Campo YMCA, which is located at 3414 Culbreath Rd., in Valrico, frequently hosts events for member and non-member families including a member-exclusive Pumpkin Splash event on Friday, October 12 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For more information on future events, visit www.tampaymca.org or call 6841371. The YMCA also has an active Facebook page with frequent event updates.

First American Offers Real Estate Agents Real Solutions & 125 Years Of Experience
Ancestry Tour/Vacation
By Amy Schechter
Most people think only of title insurance when buying or selling a home, and while home buyers may be inclined to want to look for the best rate, when it comes to title insurance, it’s not like shopping for car insurance, as the State of Florida sets a uniform title rate that every insurer must adhere to. Real estate agents typically help home buyers select the title company, and they know how important it is to choose the right company to make the process of buying and selling homes run smoothly. They look for an agency that will provide the very best service, and for top-notch service there is only one place to go: First American Title Insurance Company. With over 125 years of experience, First American was built on a foundation of integrity allowing it to grow from a modest office in California to an international leader in title insurance. Michelle Hernandez, former Honorary Mayor of Brandon 2015 and Account Executive at First American Title, knows what sets the company apart: technology and service. Hernandez said, “First American consistently invests in technology to help real estate agents guide home buyers to successful closing. Our technology tools are amazing, but the expertise and superior service of our people often make the difference in delivering a smooth closing.” Real estate agents are better
equipped to meet customer needs and demands when they have cutting-edge technology such as the company’s myFirstAm® platform that can narrow down specific property specifications the home buyer is looking for based on what sellers have available. Additionally, First American Title allows agents to reinforce their professional brand with custom advertising through faPrint, which offers affordable solutions for print mailers and other forms of marketing, like door hangers, letterhead and labels. Furthermore, as the threat of email-based, real estate fraud continues to grow, cybersecurity is of paramount importance. With First American Title, there is no need to email secure documents. All documents are submitted electronically via a secure First American Title web portal and funds are routed through the company’s own federally chartered bank, offering protection for home buyers’ personal information and money. Contact Michelle Hernandez at mhernandez@firstam.com or reach her in the office at 514-2828 or on her cell at 928-2283. Visit www.firstam.com for more information. First American Title has more than 40 offices throughout Florida, including two convenient locations at 1731 S. Kings Ave. in Brandon or at 17511 Preserve Walk Ln. in (New) Tampa.

Brandon Group Wins $10,000 Donation To Help Children Learn Through Music
By Kate Quesada
A Brandon area nonprofit charity believes that learning music gives children a head start in life and thanks to a recent donation from a Tampa company, they can now bring their gift to more students than ever. Insurance and Trust (IAT) earned a 2018 Safeco Insurance Make More Happen Award for volunteer work bringing music to disadvantaged children with Instruments of Change, a public 501(c)3 based in Brandon. The award included a $5,000 donation to the charity from Safeco Insurance, which was doubled to $10,000 thanks to an active social media

The group was chosen for the award based on a photo application. A total of 24 independent agents will be chosen throughout 2018 to receive The Safeco Make More Happen Awards which focus on the area of health and safety, education and civil service. “We are excited to share the inspiring stories of our agents with their comBrandon-based charity Instruments for Change recently received a $10,000 donation from Safeco Insurance to provide music to students in fifth grade.
campaign. “Students who learn to play musical instruments generally score higher on academic tests and are less likely to engage in self-destructive behaviors,” said the group’s media representative, Calvin Jordan. “Instruments of Change works to bring band programs to elementary school students in an effort to positively influence their personal development.” According to Jordan, Instruments of
Change currently serves five elementary schools in Hillsborough County by providing musical instruments and instruction to
students. “Fifth graders at participating schools must sign a contract which obligates them to care for the instrument they are given, practice in preparation for performances and be held accountable to other students in the section,” said Jordan. “Upon successful completion of the contract and verified enrollment in a middle school band program, they receive their instrument for middle school.”
Vice President of IAT, Jeff Chernoff became president of the board of Instruments of Change earlier this year and hopes to grow the organization throughout Hillsborough County into Pinellas and eventually to the Orlando area. “My team and I have been involved with Instruments of Change for over four years and we are incredibly grateful to be awarded the Safeco Insurance Make More Happen Award so we can give back even more,” said Chernoff. “Instruments of Change continues to

Sunrise Homes Celebrates 35 Years Of Local Quality Building Sunrise Homes designed and constructed its first home in 1983. From these humble beginnings it has created a solid reputation as a semi-custom homebuilder adept at listening to the needs and wants of today’s intelligent homebuyers. With more than 3,500 homes built in Eastern Hillsborough County to date, its success comes from the ability to adapt to the ever-evolving needs of discriminating local buyers. Executive Vice President Bob Appleyard said the company does not follow national trends, choosing instead to focus on what’s important to the local homebuyer. “What is trending in California or Texas might not be what is trending in Hillsborough County, Florida,” he said. Still popular is the open concept layout with large communal spaces, but adults are now seeking private spaces where they can capture a moment of sanctuary. “Adults are finding that important so we have listened and built zones where they can find quiet and privacy,” he said. “Our homes are all about livability for everyone in the family.” When the company sees an opportunity to flex its creative muscles, it doesn’t hesitate to show homebuyers what is
By Michelle Caceres possible. In Canterbury Oaks it decided that no two elevations would be the same, requiring a substantial amount of customization and creativity from its
design team. In Lake Toscana, a Tuscaninspired community in south Riverview, its executive homes will be constructed on one half and one-acre lots, all with conservation or water views. Hickory Breeze, located at the intersection of Boyette and Rhodine Rds., and within the FishHawk school boundaries, features 24, 80’ wide estate lots. Although its one constant has been serving the single-family luxury homebuyer, Sunrise Homes is versatile in its output. From Bridgewater Landing, an active lifestyle community off Bloomingdale Ave. for the 55+ crowd to a new townhome community located across from Riverview High School slated to open in 2019, Sunrise Homes develops communities with a fierce commitment to building excellence. Weird, Wacky And Wonderful Holidays- OCTOBER 2018
Frugal Fun Day * National Dessert Day * World Pasta Day * Make A Difference Day Did you know that there are an abundance of daily holidays and special days every month? So, in the midst of our busy lives, maybe consider taking time to enjoy some of the entertaining but lesser-known holidays throughout the year. As we welcome in October, most of us are excited about the possibility of cooler weather, getting ready for the holiday seasons and of course everything pumpkin - pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, just to name a few. October was originally the eighth month of the Roman calendar and is derived from the Latin word "octo" meaning eight. Later, it became the tenth month when January and February were added to the calendar. October is the month we celebrate Columbus Day as well as the everpopular holiday, Halloween. Did you know that Halloween is the second-largest commercial holiday in America? Only Christmas surpasses it in sales. According to the National Retail Federation, consumers spend nearly $7 billion dollars on Halloween decorations, costumes and candy. But, don’t be tricked this October – there are plenty of other holidays worthy of our celebrations! If you don’t have an extra $7 billion dollars, never fear because Saturday, October 6 is Frugal Fun Day. This day
was created in 1999 by Shel Horowitzin, author of The Penny-Pinching Hedonist: How to Live Like Royalty with a Peasant’s Pocketbook. Horowitz suggests that Frugal Fun should play an important role in our lives, stating “once people realize they can still have a fabulous time without spending very much money, it opens up enormous possibilities for living more lightly while enjoying a better quality of life.” Some fun and cheap ideas for this day include a bike ride or a walk in the park, a picnic on the beach, attend a free concert, take a stroll through a botanical garden or pull out those dusty board games from the closet and have a game night! If you’re looking for something a little different, a fun and free tour of the Tampa Yuengling Brewing Company is the perfect afternoon excursion. This brewery's hourlong tour walks patrons through the process of crafting delectable brews for America's oldest beer company. Tour times can be found at www.yuengling.com. For more free things, visit www.10best.com/destinations/florida/tampa/attractions/free-thingsto-do/ After saving all that money on free fun, you may want to consider splurging on some sumptuous sweets on Sunday, October 14 - National Dessert Day! For just one day, forget about the calories and
dieting and indulge your sweet-tooth on this special occasion. Celebrate by way of bakery, candy store or in your own kitchen – indulge in something sweet such as cakes, pies, ice cream, cookies, pudding, pastries, cobblers, donuts or crepes. New Business Brings Private Art Parties To Families In The Community
By Libby Hopkins
Local artist, Shawn Rainey and his wife Paula, are the owners of Fabstraq, which is an art party that comes to you. Party costs are $30 per participant and $25 for 10 or more participants.
Artist Pablo Picasso once said, “Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.” Local artist, Shawn Rainey and Pablo Picasso could be kindred spirits because he too feels art is another way of keeping a diary. “Art gave me the freedom to express my feelings and it became my diary in color,” Rainey said. “I began to paint and quickly learned that I was able to put my emotions into creating art and achieve complete happiness in the creation process.” Rainey found art when he was 10years-old and it became his friend for life. “I had an intense imagination and loved to create,” Rainey said. “I started drawing comic and cartoon characters then got into graffiti as a teen.” After high school, he attended The Center for The Media Arts and studied advertising art and computer graphics but he didn’t pursue a career in this field. “I found that physically using my hands to create art was my true calling.” Rainey and his wife, Paula came up with an idea for their daughters' birthday party. “Both of our girls are very artistic and creative so they wanted something completely different than the usual birthday party themes that are out there,” Rainey said. “So, we decided throw them a painting party and it was a huge success. Many of the people who attended the party suggested that the painting parties would be a great business idea so that is how Fabstraq was born.” Other similar businesses are tethered to a specific location, but this is different because they come to your event and provide artistic inspiration catered to each individual party. “Whether it be a birthday party or any other special occasion, we provide an
inspiring a unique artistic experience for each celebration,” Rainey said. “Party costs are $30 per participant and $25 for 10 or more participants. The honored guest is always free and each participant gets to take home their unique art piece on canvas, a personalized apron and the experience of an awesome guided art session.” Rainey’s ultimate goal is to introduce and inspire art expression to children at a young age. “We envision this as a business focused on philanthropy where we would eventually have the freedom of traveling to places throughout the world where children have never experienced or even created art and providing them an inspirational experience and eventually maybe even establishing art programs of their own for these children, as well,” Rainey said. “I am currently completing a certification to become an art therapy life coach to add to my tools and experience so, that Fabstraq can provide its participants with the best artistic inspiration possible.” If you would like to learn more about Shawn Rainey or if you’d like to book a party with Fabstraq, you can visit Rainey’s Facebook page by searching Shawn Rainey- FABSTRAQ SOCIETY or call Rainey at 506-4866.

Clip & Save: Twelve Ballot Amendments And What They Mean To Voters Registered voters who are voting by mail or at the polls for the upcoming General Election need to know that there are 12 Constitutional Amendment Proposals on this year's ballot. This is the longest list in decades. One amendment (8) was struck down by the Florida Supreme Court. Voters should carefully read each amendment. Some of the amendments (1-5) were proposed by the Legislature or by citizen initiative. The remaining (7, 913) come from the Florida Constitution Revision Commission (CRC). which meets every 20 years and is allowed to bundle more than one issue into each proposed amendment. To be approved, a constitutional amendment must receive 60 percent of the vote. Summary of the amendments.
Amendment 1- Increased Homestead Property Tax Exemption
This would raise the portion of a home's value that can be exempted from non-school property taxes. The change would apply to the assessed value of a homestead property between $100,000 and $125,000. This would increase the maximum exemption to $75,000.
Amendment 2- Limitations On Property Tax Assessments
Essentially, this would make permanent a temporary cap of 10 percent on annual property value increases. This applies to non-homestead properties.
Amendment 3- Voter Control Of Gambling In Florida
This amendment would give voters the exclusive right to decide whether to authorize expansions of casino gambling. Currently, the authority rests with both the Legislature and voters.
Amendment 4- Voting Restoration For Individuals With Felony Convictions
California’s Marsy’s Law. It would raise the age for retirement of judges to 75, and it would bar judges from relying on administrative agencies’ interpretations of a law when ruling in cases.
Amendment 7- First Responder And Military Member Survivor Benefits; Public Colleges And Universities
This proposal would restore the right to vote to nearly 1.4 million Floridians who have served their sentences. This amendment does not apply to felony convictions for murder or sexual offenses. Florida is one of four states that continues to limit the rights of citizens to vote. The law dates back to the Civil War.
This is two items. The first would provide college tuition for the survivors of first responders and military members killed on duty. The second would require university trustees to agree by a two-thirds supermajority to raise college fees (not including tuition) and establish the state college system in the Constitution. Universities are in it, but state colleges (i.e., community colleges) are not.
Amendment 5- Increase To Two-Thirds Vote Needed In Legislature To Increase Taxes
Amendment 9- Prohibits Offshore Oil And Gas Drilling; Prohibits Vaping In Enclosed Indoor Workplaces
Currently, a simple majority is needed. This increase could affect the state in times of emergencies such as a hurricane or recession and could hamper the Legislature's ability to pass a reasonable budget which is their yearly mandate.
Amendment 6- Rights Of Crime Victims, Judges
This amendment is three items. It would add a list of rights for crime vicims which is modeled after
This calls for a ban on oil and gas drilling in state-owned waters and a proposal to add vaping to the ban on smoking indoors.
Amendment 10- State And Local Government Structure And Operation
This is four items. One is to have the legislative session start in January rather than March in even-numbered years (the legislature currently
By Kathy Collins
changes its dates by statute), two is to create a counter-terrorism office (FDLE is already the lead agency), three is to make the state veterans affairs department constitutionally required (there is a provision in the Constitution), and four requires that tax collector, property appraiser, supervisor of elections, sheriff and clerk of circuit court be elected. In Hillsborough, these are already elected.
Amendment 11- Property Rights; Removal Of Obsolete Provisions; Criminal Statutes
Repeals the state’s ability to prohibit noncitizens from buying, owning and selling property; deletes a provision that forces the state to prosecute criminal suspects under the law they were originally charged under, even if the Legislature changes that law; deletes obsolete language having to do with high-speed rail in Florida (voters repealed this section in 2004).
Amendment 12- Lobbying And Abuse Of Office By Public Officers
This expands the time from two years to six years that elected officials and government employees have to wait before they could lobby state government.
Amendment 13- Ban On Dog Racing
This proposal ends wagering on dog racing by 2020. Visit http://dos.myflorida.com/elections/.

Hillsborough Voters To Decide Transportation Future In November
By Preston Rudie
All for Transportation, the citizen-led effort to support increased local funding for roads and transportation, has exceeded the 49,000 petition threshold required by law to secure a place on the November ballot, according to the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections. “This is a historic moment. More than 70,000 thousand people in Hillsborough County have put a solution that funds transportation problems in front of their neighbors. We’ve waited far too long to solve a transportation crisis in Hillsborough County that is getting worse every day,” said Tyler Hudson, All for Transportation Chair. All for Transportation is a community led effort organized to fund a wide range of solutions to address our County’s greatest shortcoming – traffic congestion and lack of transit options – and allow us to invest in our community. “Without enough funding for transportation, the traffic where I live in Brandon continues to get worse. Plus, Hillsborough County’s population is expected to grow by more than 700,000 people over the next thirty years. That’s why my neighbors and thousands of people from all over Hillsborough County signed the petition,” said All for Transportation volunteer Rena Upshaw Frazier, “The people have made it clear
they won’t wait and they will be ready to vote ‘yes’ to fund transportation in November.” If approved by a majority of voters in November, the All for Transportation proposal would fund transportation improvements throughout Hillsborough County including Tampa, Plant City, Temple Terrace, Brandon, Town n’ Country, and Sun City. “Improvements would include improved roads and bridges, expanded public transit options, fixing potholes, enhanced bus service, relieving rush hour bottlenecks, improved intersections, and making walking and biking safer,” added Hudson. “All of these funds will be reviewed by an independent oversight committee and audited annually to make sure the funds are used as outlined in the plan that voters signed and will vote on in November.” “I’m happy to be one of the Hillsborough voters that signed. This gets us one step closer to funding that will make rush hour easier, provide us more transit options and make our streets safe,” said East Tampa resident Gwen Myers. “I believe people will vote yes in November, because the funding has clear oversight to make sure it’s spent on the community’s priorities.” To learn more about All for Transportation, visit AllforTransportation.com.
