Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio State Dear Friends, This past year, which marked the college’s fifth anniversary, was truly outstanding. Record-breaking research expenditures and fundraising, a banner year for faculty and student awards, and this autumn we’ll welcome our largest-ever incoming class of new students. I want to share some high points from the last year and introduce you to just a few of our superstars. We cannot begin to capture the scope of excellence in one small document, but I want to give you a glimpse of the College of Arts and Sciences through my eyes.
College Leadership David Manderscheid Executive Dean and Vice Provost

Each day, I read more articles highlighting both the power and increasing relevance of an arts and sciences education. Technology and business professions are demanding more liberal arts graduates, and national studies show time and again that an arts and sciences education delivers long-term fulfillment and a versatile skillset. This is especially true for arts and sciences students at Ohio State. We are committed to providing a supportive studentcentered environment and world-class education to give our students a competitive edge. With access to top-tier faculty and a broad range of majors and minors, they have the opportunity to pursue any possibility.
Divisional Dean, Graduate Education Social and Behavioral Sciences
Take a look at some of what we’ve accomplished in this past year and the breadth of what we offer. You’ll clearly see why I am so proud.
Christopher Hadad
Sincerely,
