IDIOPHONE: A READING BY AMY FUSSELMAN Wednesday, Sept. 12, 4:30-6 p.m. Wexner Center Store, 1871 N. High St. Join English department alumna Amy Fusselman ’86 for a reading from her new book, Idiophone (Coffeehouse Press), a strikingly original meditation on risk-taking and provocation in art from a distinctively feminist angle. Considering art-making in the context of motherhood, and motherhood in the context of addiction, Fusselman’s compact, beautifully digressive essay feels both surprising and effortless, fueled by curiosity and fundamental joy. “Fusselman’s writing feels like a scroll unfurling page by page, and the connections she makes here are surprising and delightful. This book is a place where anything can happen.” — Village Voice english.osu.edu 4
