The Hyperion tree is the tallest in the world, coming in at 380 feet. It is also known to be 800 years old. The Redwood trees in California are also strong, tall, and resilient. Their height is around 300 feet, and some are known to be 2000 years old. They have been around so long because of their strong foundation, healthy roots, and connection (underground) to other trees. Even in business, we can learn from the beautiful aspects of nature. This is the perfect time to spring into action and strengthen your ties with other business owners.

These are indeed complex times in the world; however, one way to shift our energy and keep our businesses growing in the right direction is to have authentic solid relationships. It may have been odd to partner with a competitor long ago, but now is the time to find allies in business and life. You can do this by attending a networking event and putting a little star or note on the back of the card of each person you would like to get to know better. Then, follow up for an in-person (or Zoom) coffee meeting. The key here is quality over quantity. You don’t have to make 100 new connections, but having a few quality interactions each season can help your business grow. Another way to meet people is to join a local business association. Joining can help you get referrals, find prospective candidates, and create partnerships. Lastly, remember to show gratitude and appreciation to the people who have remained loyal through the years.
