ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS Monday November 11th Meeting Day 1

Roundtable discussions During Day 1, the roundtable discussions with focus on bone anchored hearing care and on Day 2, the focus will be cochlear implants. The purpose of the roundtable discussions are to share opinions, clinical experiences, ideas and knowledge on a variety of pertinent topics in surgery and audiology for bone anchored hearing systems and cochlear implants. The overall topics for the bone anchored surgery roundtable discussion are: • Tissue preservation surgery • Outcome measures in bone anchored technology – surgical and audiological • Future of bone anchored hearing systems and other implantable technologies

The overall topics for the cochlear implant roundtable discussion are: • What is missing from today’s cochlear implant options? • Surgical preferences for cochlear implantation • Features necessary for a 4th cochlear implant company to be considered as a supplier

Each group will be moderated. After the roundtable discussion, the moderator will present a summary of the discussion to the entire group. These summaries will then be written up and shared with all attendees after the meeting.

Copenhagen, Denmark Copenhagen (København) is the capital of Denmark and its largest city with a population of 1.2 million. Nice, France Nissa [classical norm], Italian: Nizza) is a city in southern France located on the Mediterranean coast, between Marseille, France, and Genoa, Italy, with 1,197,751 inhabitants in the metropolitan area at the 2007 estimate. The city is a major tourist center and a leading resort on the French Riviera (CÃ´te d’Azur). It is the historical capital city of the County of Nice. The natural beauty of the Nice area and its mild Mediterranean climate came to the attention of the English upper classes in the second half of the 18th century, when an increasing number of aristocratic families took to spending their winter there. The city’s main seaside promenade,”Promenade des Anglais (‘the Walkway of the English’) owes its name to the earliest visitors to the resort. For decades now, the picturesque Nicean surroundings have attracted not only those in search of relaxation, but also those seeking inspiration. GENERAL INFORMATION Climate Denmark’s temperatures vary considerably during the year, particularly during winter. November can be quite chilly with an average high temperature of 45°F and an average low of 36°F. The city of Copenhagen is still quite beautiful, but there is always a chance of rain, so be advised to bring a rain coat and/or an umbrella. Averages for Nice in November In Nice, the temperatures will be cooler than at other times of the year, but they should still remain seasonably mild and pleasant. November is a lovely time to visit Nice, as the crowds of tourists the city attracts in the summer tend not to visit at this time of year.The average temperature in Nice November is 53°F, which can reach highs of 61°F), and drop to average minimum temperature 48°F.
