Teatro Jordão and Garagem Avenida won the National Award for Urban Rehabilitation in the category of “Social Impact”

Build in the 1930s the Jordao Theater is an imposing building in the heart of the city of Guimaraes, North Portugal.

The new floor over the Jordão building consists of a metallic structure, covered by an OTIIMA glass curtain facade and metallic elements. This curtain wall system is made up of the latest fibreglass profile technology, featuring a full exterior view of glass, low thermal conductivity and a reversible system that allows the window an opening angle of 165º.

The new building design involves an interpretative, personal, yet artistic charge, safeguarding heritage, while its expansive glass walls look towards the future with respect and inspiration. Construído nos anos 30, o Teatro Jordão é um imponente edifício no coração da cidade de Guimarães, Norte de Portugal.

O novo andar sobre o edifício Jordão é constituído por uma estrutura metálica, coberta por uma fachada de cortina de vidro OTIIMA e elementos metálicos. Este sistema é composto pela mais recente tecnologia de fibra de vidro, apresentando uma vista exterior em vidro, baixa condutividade térmica e um sistema reversível que permite um ângulo de abertura de janela de 165º.

O novo design do edifício envolve uma carga interpretativa, pessoal, mas artística, salvaguardando o património, enquanto as suas expansivas paredes de vidro olham para o futuro com respeito e inspiração.
