Elizabeth C. Adams has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who in recognition of her work as a jewelry designer and entrepreneur.
She is the creator of ExVoto Vintage, a collection of jewelry made using antique elements, and operates jewelry and apparel stores in Mountain Brook, Montgomery and Rosemary Beach, Florida.
Adams began creating art, including jewelry and mixed-media collages, after losing her daughter to a brain tumor in 2009. Now she donates a portion of her company’s sales to The Cure Starts Now Foundation for pediatric brain cancer research. She also is planning to publish a book about her daughter’s journey battling cancer.
Earlier this year, she was named Best Jeweler in the State of Alabama by Alabama Magazine, and in 2015 she was given Small Business of the Year honors from Elizabeth C. Adams the Women’s Committee of 100 for Birmingham Inc. She also has been featured in publications such as the Garden & Gun gift guide, Southern Living and InStyle.
Adams also is a member of the Female Founder Collective, The American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen and the Texas Diaper Bank. Monsignor Martin M. Muller presented the Ernie Eltz Volunteer of the Year Award to Dr. Frances Andrews.
OLS July 4 Volunteers Thanked With Appreciation Dinner
More than 100 volunteers from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood were served a catered dinner Aug. 10 in appreciation of a successful 73rd annual Independence Day Festival.
The Knights of Columbus Council 4304 organized the festival.
During dinner in the parish hall. Grand Knight Clark Tucker expressed his gratitude to the crowd. School Principal Mary Jane Dorn thanked the volunteers on behalf of the students.
Monsignor Martin M. Muller presented the Ernie Eltz Volunteer of the Year Award to Dr. Frances Andrews, who offers many services to the parish, including serving on the Liturgy Committee, making banners and assisting before and after Masses.
Festival proceeds were shared by Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and the Knights of Columbus for their charitable work.
