Larry S. Baker, D.D.S. Class of 1982

Dr. Larry S. Baker passed away on Oct. 29, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born Oct. 11, 1957 to William and Betty Baker. He graduated from the OU College of Dentistry in 1982 and practiced dentistry for more than 30 years, developing many friendships with his patients.

Larry lived life in a fast, fun and adventurous manner. He has an affinity for all things wheels and he had many toys to satisfy his need for speed and off-roading; however, Larry said he was most at peace on the water, when boating or fishing. earned his business degree at the University of Oklahoma where a certain co-ed caught his eye. In 1986, he and Sherry Cornelison married in Oklahoma City. Eric received his dental degree from the OU College of Dentistry in 1995, completing his AEGD certificate from the USAF residency at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He retired from the Armed Forces at the rank of lieutenant colonel after 22 years of service. In 2000, Eric settled in Monett, Missouri, with his wife and two children, where he worked in private practice. Eric held a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry and was a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Richard Glass, D.D.S.

Mary Neely Clayton, D.D.S. Class of 1990

Dr. Mary Neely Clayton, age 65, of Odenville, Alabama, passed away on Dec. 8, 2018, after a brave battle with cancer. Mary was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and lived in Moody until 1965 when she moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in 1976 and, after 10 years of nursing, attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, graduating in 1990. Dr. Clayton practiced in the Oklahoma City area, but moved to Alabama upon her retirement in 2012.

Eric Kean, D.D.S. Class of 1995

Dr. Richard Glass, 77, of Tulsa, passed away on June 18, 2018. He was one of the original professors recruited to found and open the OU College of Dentistry in the 1970s. He served as chairman of Oral Pathology, teaching dental and medical students for over two decades. In 1995, it was Dr. Glass who directed the teams of dentists, dental students and support personnel in identification of the 167 victims of the Alfred P. Murrah building bombing. He would go on the receive countless awards and accolades throughout his career and was an internationally recognized and sought-after speaker. After retiring from the college in 1996, he was named professor emeritus of oral pathology.

Joe Phillips, D.D.S.

Dr. Eric Kean passed away on March 2, 2019, in Monett, Missouri. Following a melanoma diagnosis, Dr. Kean fought valiantly for 10 months until the disease overwhelmed his earthly body. He was born in Aurora, Colorado, Aug. 15, 1959. After graduating from Star Spencer High School, he Dr. Joe Phillips passed away on Aug. 10, 2018. He was a warm and caring dentist at the OU Dental Hygiene program on the Weatherford site, where he worked for 13 years. He was a dedicated individual who joined in the celebration of the many accomplishments of the dental hygiene students.
