Metropolitan Loft – Living Room Visitors take the lift to the fourth level of the VitraHaus where they will step into a spacious metropolitan loft set in warm, earthy tones and soft lighting. The group of seats entice visitors to linger; objects and accessories from around the world convey the established sense of style and life experience of the well-travelled resident.
Office or not A home office doesn‘t have to look like an office as long as it still serves the owner in the customary fashion.

The legendary Metropolitan chandelier from Lobmeyr makes sure every detail is cast in the right light. Like the room divider that also acts as a wine rack and book shelf.
The dining room table, an embodiment of hospitality, is the centrepiece of your home furnishings. With chairs as comfortable as the Fauteuil Direction, it is sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests.
Attractive convenience Convenience can be functional first and foremost and also have an appealing side that blends in perfectly with the rest of your furnishings. 04

On the side of the loft facing the Vitra Campus, visitors can walk through an open kitchen from bulthaup, the German kitchen expert. Supplemented by a reading corner and an enticing dining room table arrangement, the kitchen offers a place for hospitality and entertaining. Subtle shades and natural materials add pleasant ambience to the exquisite interior design.
Kitchen workshop The flexible b2 kitchen workshop from bulthaup could have been made especially for the loft in the VitraHaus and appeals with its decided lightness and many refined details.

Delight in peaceful repose Those precious moments when you can sit back and put your feet up should be as comfortable as possible, making the Repos lounge chair an ideal companion.

Communication
02
Teamwork is essential for knowledge workers. However, a well planned office also accounts for restrictions associated with communication channels, acoustics, ergonomics and much more.
Idea!
Concentration
At the workplace, nothing is more important than inspiration. An office must absolutely account for this by offering corners for retreat and informal communication.
An office must offer suitable possibilities for concentrated individual work, undisturbed phone calls and one-on-one conversations – like Alcove Work Sofas. 01

Teamwork, Meet and Retreat
04
As in today‘s working world many tasks can be completed from home thanks to technical possibilities, a new quality of office is needed. Offices that enable the collaboration of employees in teams and concentrated work in a natural, motivating manner. In the newly designed first level of the VitraHaus, Vitra is showing just this office environment where special importance was also placed on design with the use of bright, cheerful tones. It embodies Vitra‘s conviction that rooms and their furnishings decisively influence the well-being of the individual and consequently his or her productivity. Psst!
07
Working with colour Every office environment owes part of its effect to its colour concept. This in turn greatly promotes the well-being of office workers. The same is true for accessories.
VitraHaus Inspirations ¤ 1 /2012
Since Vitra uses its own offices as experimental space, there is a continuous flow of new ideas in this case for retreat, which must first demonstrate their benefit in everyday use at Vitra.
06
Flexibility Office furnishings must be flexible enough to accommodate a wide range of different needs. The result is a workstation that can be rapidly transformed into a conference corner. 4 /9
Meeting rooms Who says meetings have to take place in formal settings? It is much more important that work is completed in the most conducive manner possible, which may be while sitting on a sofa.
„The details are not the details. The details make the design.“ In keeping with the words of Charles Eames, the effect of accessories in an office should not be underestimated. 09

Well-being
14
The setting therefore has a tangible effect on our well-being. Office workers, who feel at ease, are more motivated and productive as a result. 17
Exchange Information has to flow at work. That‘s why it is essential to have adequate possibilities for the formal and informal exchange of ideas.
Unusual Mundane tasks at the office can also be enhanced with a love of detail, making them a pleasure.
