Leprechaun The Leprechauns are the most popular creatures in the Irish mythology. They’re from Ireland. They always had a long red beard and they wear a hat and a coat. All their clothes are green. The Leprechauns always had in his hands a pot of gold coins.

The Leprechauns are very fast, and they have the capacity to be invisible and to disappear. They always spend their time making shoes. Some stories say that they hide their gold coins in a pot at the end of the rainbow. Some people say that the Leprechauns are real but some people say that they only are a myth.

Medusa Medusa was a Greek mythical creature part woman and part snake. She had got a woman´s torso and head and a snake´s tail. Instead of hair she had snakes in her head and if you stared into her eyes you turned to stone. She was a very beautiful woman. Medusa was one of the gorgon sisters, but Medusa had a characteristic that differed from the rest of the gorgons; she was the only fatal and the most beautiful among her sisters, Steno and Euryale. Her parents were Forces and Ceto.

The legend says that her beauty was so great that she dazzled Poseidon and then he tried to seduce her in the temple of Athena. Athena, angry with Poseidon, punished Medusa by being a monster who turns people to stone only by staring at her. Medusa, furious, began to turn everyone into stone. Athena, then, ordered Perseus to kill Medusa by cutting her head, and so did Perseus.

Is the most dangerous creature in the world, it´s very intelligent and big. The Basilisk can kill you with its look. It´s my favorite creature, it appears in Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets. The basilisk irritates the rooster cockcrow. The basilisk lives in the desert that he creates himself when breaking stones and burn the grass. This happens because the basilisk breathes out fire.

ZOMBIE

A zombie or zombi is a mythical dead person who has returned to life as a walking corpse. Mythical things that have been "reanimated" are called undead, and a group of them can be called the living dead. My opinion is that zombies are human but rotten. Zombie´s skin is green and a little blue. The zombies eat brains and your guts . And if they bite you, you also become a zombie. The Zombie myth came from the Caribbean. Exactly , they are on the island of Haiti . In Haiti people believe that Voodoo sorcerers or 'bokor' can bring dead people back to life, making a zombie. The zombie is under the control of the sorcerer because zombies have no free will. A zombie is a trapped human soul. If a sorcerer can catch the trapped soul, the sorcerer becomes more powerful. Zombies have become very popular in horror movies.

GORGON Explanation: My mythical creature is a Gorgon. In Greek mythology, a Gorgon is a female creature. The name derives from the ancient Greek word gorgós, which means "dreadful". She was one of three sisters who had hair made of living, venomous snakes, as well as a horrifying visage that turned those who beheld her to stone. Traditionally, while two of the Gorgons were immortal, Stheno and Euryale, their sister Medusa was not, and she was slain by the hero Perseus. Because of their legendary and powerful gaze that could turn one to stone, images of the Gorgons were put upon objects and buildings for protection. Gorgon is a very strange creature, it is a very different creature but I like it because it is a interesting and different creature. It is part human and she has got a hair comprising of snakes. It is a very dangerous creature, if you see her snakes comprising her hair it is very strange comparing with humans. Her eyes are more brilliant than human’s eyes. The snakes comprising her hair are brown with silver colored eyes.

The manticore is a Legendary creature. It's from Persia and it means man-eater. The real name of the creature is greek, μαρτιχώρα, martichora. Manticore is 5 meters long and 3 meters high. It is a mixture of many animals: it has the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth (like a shark), a long beard and sometimes bat wings. Its tail is like a scorpion’s or a dragon’s and it can shoot venomous spines. In some stories, it has got horns. Sometimes it has got a breastplate. When it eats humans it eats the bones and clothes, too. It lives in forests. It's similar to The Egyptian Sphinx. Its first appearance in Europe was in a book called Indika. That book was about Indian history and some people think that the Manticore is an exaggerated description of an Indian tiger. Later, the Manticore appears in some films: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Percy Jackson, Adventure time... In 2005 Tripp Reed was the director of the Manticore science fiction horror film.

VAMPIRE They were human, but now they are in an intermediate state between life and death.

It’s considered that vampires were skinny, pale, and had long nails and long sharp fangs. They can fly. They can communicate through the mind, control their victims, make other vampires biting with their fangs, transform them in animals, they can’t die for natural causes… This mythical creature, it is from Transylvania (Rumania). They feed on the blood of their victims. They are not reflected in mirrors and they don’t have shadow or soul. The vampires do not support the christian symbols and they can be removed with one christian cross or with garlic. They don’t stand the sunlight. It’s mostly fiction.

LAMIA

Lamia is part woman and part duck. It´s got a woman's body and head and it´s got a duck’s feet. It can build bridges, houses... and wash clothes at night. It feeds with bread, bacon and cider that she asks to humans. Sometimes, they ask for help to humans, for example, if they need a midwife. The Lamia and the young men often fall in love with each other’s. This spirit has the appearance of a beautiful lady from the waist up, but her feet are those of a hen, a duck or a goat. Their dying out has been attributed to the building of chapels, to the sound of the church bells and to the prayers. It seems that the arrival of Christianity has something to do with the extinction of the Lamiak. This could be a proof of their

antiquity. IXONE 6.B

We do not know where it comes from but some people say they make their nests in mountains containing gold.
