Sis. Bettie Lue Sanders “Let not your heart be troubles: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” St. John 14:1-3

Obituary – Legacy Bettie Sanders, a spiritual, blessed and devoted woman who loved the Lord, and was a pillar of the community, completed her earthly transition to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at home with loved ones by her side. Born into this life on February 3, 1935, one of eighteen children to the late Morgan, Sr. and Willie Byrd Taylor in Pachuta, Mississippi, where she also attended New Friendship School Session of 1946. Bettie relocated to New Orleans, LA with her husband and resided there for 61 years.

A homemaker and loving mother to her kids, she was awarded a Certificate of Merit for service in the community by the Mayor of New Orleans in 1975. Bettie was serving the Lord on the Deaconess board, under the leadership of Bishop Darryl S. Brister, where she studied God’s Word and helped to move the church forward. In 2008, to continue her Christian walk, she became a part of the Mount Hermon Baptist Church family, under the leadership of Rev. John Jackson. My Dear Mother Ma, you were that and much more, a blessing to us all. You have come to the end of your journey and your soul has been set free. Now you are where there are pearly gates and streets are paved with gold. We will remember the love we shared as a family and truly you will be missed. Love Forever, Children, Grandchildren & Family

A Mother’s Love

Prayer is the Key…

When you cried… I wiped your tears When you laughed… I laughed with you When you were cold… I put my loving arms around you When you were hungry… I fed you before myself When you were sick… I prayed for healing When you smiled… I smiled back When you were happy… It made me full of joy When you were down… I gave you my all When you asked who would always be there for you… I said, “Me.” In Jesus name we always pray, Your Praying Mother
