His Story Burnell “Jerome” Robinson was born June 4, 1954, in Houma, LA, to the late and former Leontine Verrett and John Robinson Sr. He was the youngest of ten children born to this union. He transitioned peacefully at his home on Monday, August 17, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Jerome graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High school in Houma, LA, in 1972. He then furthered his education at Xavier University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. In 1974, his best friend, Peter James Hamilton II, introduced him to the love of his life, Kathy Moret. Jerome and Kathy later made their love one and were married in 1978. Through this union, they were blessed with two wonderful sons, Bradley and Brach, affectionately known as “The Twins.” Jerome enjoyed watching sports on television, as he could analyze any player’s stats better than ESPN. You could also find him sitting in his backyard on his deck, or on his front porch, listening to the sounds of smooth jazz. He was loved by all of his family and friends; however, his grandchildren were the key to his heart. To them, he was affectionately known as “Papa.” Every year, Jerome looked forward to vacationing on the beach with his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and of course, his grandchildren. Jerome is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Moret Robinson, children: Brach (Ashley), Bradley (Whitley), and two grandchildren: Madison and Brach II. He is also survived by his siblings: Alfred (Carolyn) Robinson, Jackie (Blanca) Robinson, Geraldine Jones, Murle Robinet, Evelyn (Claude Sr.) Tellis and Lawrence “Zo” Robinson. He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Anthony “Errol” (Merrita) Moret, and Clarence (Janie) Moret, sisters-in-law: Sharon Claude, Bobbie Jean Robinson, and Carmen Robinson. He leaves cherished godchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Also surviving him is a cherished and a special childhood friend, Peter James Hamilton II (Osana), who was more like a brother. Preceding him in death were his parents, John Robinson Sr. and Leontine Verrett Robinson, father-in- law and mother-in-law, Alexander Moret and Edwina Lumas Moret; his brothers, John Robinson Jr. (Joandell), Donald Robinson, Benjamin “Butch”, brothers-in law, Ray Jones, LaNard Robinet, and Thomas Claude Jr.
