John Ruben Collier Sr., “Sarge/Sapo” was born to the union of the late M.L. Collier, Sr. and Hilda Frye on November 26, 1939 in Fayette, MS. On Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the early morning hour, a phone call from Jesus was placed to one John R. Collier, saying “thou good and faithful servant I have shown you grace and mercy all the days of your life.” The angel of death has come, you’ve fought a good fight, the victory has been won, the savior has a job for you.

“Servant Well Done Come On Home”

Bro. Collier was educated at Lidell High School in Fayette, MS., later attending Booker T. Washington Sr. High night classes for completion. He received Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Robert Thompson in Fayette, MS. On November 22, 1958, he married Shirley Mae Ellis and to this union five children were born; Gail, Gilda, Florence, Micheal and John.

Upon moving to New Orleans, LA, he placed his membership at Greater St. John Baptist Church under the guardianship of the late Rev. Albert Jackson. He later placed his name on roll at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church where he was still a member until his death.

We Are Family

We have an angel watching over us and we call him

DADDY

We cried when you passed away, We still cry today, Although we loved you dearly, we couldn’t make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest, GOD broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best..

Our Hearts

I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I’ll never part. God has you in His arms, I have you in my heart .

Missing You

When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not here to see… If the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today… While thinking of the things we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you. And each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we are apart.. For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your hearts.
