Her Story Joyce Marie Doherty Reimonenq On August 21, 2017 at 1:26 PM, Joyce Marie Doherty Reimonenq, age 63, surrounded by love ones, entered the gates of eternal peace where there is no more pain, suffering or sorrow. Joyce was born on October 18, 1953, to the union of Frank Doherty, Sr. and the late Cornelious Brown Doherty, the fifth of nine children. Joyce had a genuine love for the Lord and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Magnolia Baptist Church where she was baptized by the late Rev. Roosevelt Johnson in Saint Francisville, LA. Upon relocating to New Orleans, she placed her membership at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church for 26 years, under the leadership of Pastor Fred Luter, Jr. Later she placed her membership at Friendship Community Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Reginald Holmes. Joyce was reared in West Feliciana Parish and graduated from Saint Francisville High School (Class of 1972). Joyce continued enhancing her education, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA, in 1975; a Master’s Degree from Xavier University, New Orleans, LA, in 1977 and a Master’s Degree Plus 30 from South Eastern University, Hammond, LA in 1978. Joyce retired from Orleans Parish School System as an Elementary Educator for 26 years. Later during her adult life she married Jules Reimonenq and to this union three children were born. As a child she was always a joyful person. As an adult, she loved shopping, gardening, traveling and had a kind heart and always gave all she possibly could to anyone in need. Her pleasant spirit and laughter cast a light to all her family and friends. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23. Inspirational songs that touched her heart deeply were: "Lord, Whatever You Are Doing in this Season, Please Don't Do It Without Me," "Bigger Than the Universe," and "His Eye is on the Sparrow." She was loved by many… her presence and commitment to family and friends will be greatly missed. Angels watched over her day and night and now she is resting in the arms of the Lord. Joyce leaves to cherish her memories: (1) daughter: Jena Monique; (2) sons: Jules Jamil, Jason (Jalissa) Reimonenq of New Orleans; (1) stepson: Michael (Brittni) Reimonenq of Houston, TX; (5) grandchildren: Jaheim, Corey, Alisha, Paris and Michaela; her Father, Frank Doherty, Sr. of Saint Francisville, LA; (4) brothers: Frank, Jr. (Gloria), Michael of Saint Francisville, LA; David (Barbara) Philadelphia, PA; and Kevin (Ann) of Woodville, MS; (2) sisters: Velma Doherty Gilmore (Roosevelt) of Zachary, LA; and Carolyn Doherty of Saint Francisville, LA; (3) brothers-in-law; (7) sisters-in-law; (1) Godchild: Demetrice Doherty; (4) Aunts: Emma Brown Smith of New Orleans, LA; Viola Brown Price of Los Angeles, CA; Elsie Doherty Davis and Helen Doherty of Saint Francisville, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cornelious Brown Doherty; grandparents, Thomas and Rosa Lee Brown and (2) brothers Leon and Leroy Doherty.

Weep Not For Me Author Unknown

Weep not for me though I have gone Into that gentle night Grieve if you will, but not for long Upon my soul’s sweet flight I am at peace, my soul’s at rest There is no need for tears For with your love I was so blessed For all those many years There is no pain, I suffer not The fear is now all gone Put now these things out of your thoughts In your memory I live on Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife Please do not dwell upon my death But celebrate my life… Love Always, Joyce

Wonderful Mother By Patrick O’Reilly

God made a wonderful mother, A mother who never grows old; He made her smile of the sunshine. And He molded her heart of pure gold; In her eyes He placed bright shining stars, In her cheeks fair roses you see; God made a wonderful mother, And He gave that dear mother to me.
