Testimony of Life of a Virtuous Woman Our beloved Queen Maria Fermina “Mami” Mejia Cloter was born on Saturday, November 24, 1934 to the union of the late Alberto Pablo Mejia & Eugenia Martinez Sambula, in Trujillo Honduras, Central America. Mami was the second born in God’s chronological order of ten. In her youth Mami told stories about the struggles of growing up poor. In spite of her circumstance she received a formal education up to sixth grade in accordance to school requirement in Honduras. During Mami’s youth she enjoyed playing basketball, learning how to bake to assist Abuelita (Grandmother) and her siblings financially. As time would show Mami became a business woman with a great mind to find opportunities to support the family with baking traditional Honduran pan dulce (sweet bread), and pan de coco (coconut bread) to sell at the pier. In her youth she also discovered a passion for sewing. Mami had an eye for designing and duplicating dress patterns by using newspaper, becoming a master seamstress in her own right. In 1950 Mami met her Prince charming Agustin Cloter. After years of courtship our Queen was blessed in marriage to her King. Unto their union they created in love six children. Mami birth the first two of the Cloter Children in La Cieba, Honduras C.A. and once established in New Orleans, LA in 1965 four more blessings were added to the Cloter Family. Papi was longshoreman living most of his life traveling around the world working hard to provide Mami a life that was filled with whatever her heart desired. A faithful servant of God, Mami accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church. She also attended other Hispanic influence churches in New Orleans in participation of traditional celebrations and ceremonies Honduras Garifuni Culture. She was known to so many as Mami. In her journey of life she was blessed to wear the title as Wife, Mother, Tia (aunt), Nina (Godmother), Amiga,(Friend) and Prima (Cousin). Most affectionally Mrs. Maria planted seeds that cultivated in fruitful in loving relationships. At the age of 82 years young, God our Father saw fit call our beloved unto His Heavenly Kingdom; where there’s no more pain, suffering or worries simply the richness of everlasting joy. Mami is reunited in Heaven with her husband of thirty-five years, two grandsons the Late Melvin Bell, Jr. and Travis Maurice Williams, Jr., her parents’ three siblings Nicolas, Olivia, Crispin and a host loved ones. Mami leaves to cherish precious everlasting memories with six children Elsa Gloria Hill (Marcos) of New Orleans, LA, Pedro Agustin Cloter of New Orleans, LA , Diana Maritza Cloter –Bell of Katy, TX, Maria Lorena Giles (Harold) of New Orleans, LA , Jorgen Alberto Cloter (Tori) of Spring, TX and Miguel Antonio Cloter of Lancaster, TX, 20 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. Mami also leaves to cherish a honorary former son-in-law for life Melvin Bell, Sr., five siblings with special acknowledgement to her sister Presi Marin who walked this journey with her from the beginning to the end. With great joy Mami also left a mark on the hearts of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Our Queen will often be remembered for her ability to bring family and friends together, her laughter, the rhythmical way in which she dance to the beat of her heart, but more than that, how much Mami loved God for the blessings given to her through the love of her family and friends. To God be the glory for Mami’s imprint.

Mi Homenaje Final a ti Mami A Mi Querida Madre, No deje que oportunidad me pasa sin contar y mostrar lo mucho que significas para mí. Su amor, su cuidado, tu comprensión y tus consejos fueron regalos para mí desde el corazón.
