Reverend Victor J. Simon Pastor, Power House Church of God

And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Remembering the Life of

Matthew 3: 16 - 17

Eddie Charles “String” Lewis, Sr. Eddie Charles Lewis, Sr. made his way to sweet rest and now Heaven has a new organizer that has taken his place among the angels.. Looking down and wondering why everyone is not celebrating, because he is having a marvelous time!!! Eddie attended Joseph S. Clark Sr. High School but left before graduating to get a job so that he could help support his family. Eddie began working for Mr. John Schwegmann, Sr. at the age of 16 and because of his love for giving directions he quickly worked his way up to General Manager. He retired after 27 years. He always said that his greatest accomplishment at Schwegmann’s was meeting and marrying Marie Louise Santiago (his Chubby). Eddie and Marie were married for 39 years when his beloved passed away. It always seemed that his greatest joy was providing a GREAT LIFE for his wife and two daughters, Lynn and Kim. Eddie was a giver, he gave to any and all in need whether it was a meal, a place to stay, money or just someone to talk to, he was the man. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina Eddie and Marie moved to Houston, TX, He said he had already helped to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Betsy and he was not doing it again. Although he missed his hometown, he loved and enjoyed his life with his nieces & nephews in Houston. Shortly after moving to Houston with his beloved “Chubby” , he became a widow and his brother Freeman stepped in to patiently and lovingly take care of him. His favorite past-time was playing bid whist and spades, he was always the loudest one at the table because his rules were right. Understanding the importance of their relationship with God, they worshipped together at the United Covenant of Hope Church of God under the leadership of Dr. Robert Williams. Eddie will join those who preceded him in death, his wife Marie Lewis, his father and mother James and Lydia Lewis, his son Eddie Charles Lewis, Jr., his beloved grandson Jonathon Hobbs, his brothers Melvin & James Ellis, Glen Alvin and John Lewis, his sisters Hazel Jean Lewis and Kathleen Hodges, mother-in-law Alberta Santiago and brother-in-law Frank Santiago, II

Eddie Charles Lewis, Sr. leaved to mourn his death his two daughters, Lynn HobbsGreen and Kim (Kimmy Boo) Hobbs; son-in-law Glen Green, Sr., 3 grandchildren, Christopher James Hobbs, Sean Lewis and Gillian Lewis; 3 great grandchildren, Jonathon, Jr., Jourdan Hobbs & Christopher Hobbs, Jr.; sisters Velma Hammond and Juanita Lewis; brother Freeman Lewis; brothers-in-law Dr. Alvin Lewis and Sumpter Hammond; one god-child, Marie Louise Santiago and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and life-long friends.

As We Look Back By Unknown Author As we look back over time We find ourselves wondering…

Precious Memories…

Did we remember to thank you enough For all you have done for us? For all the times you were by our sides To help and sup[ort us… To celebrate our successes To understand our problems And accept our defeats?

Or for teaching us by your example, The value of hard work, good judgement, Courage and intehrity? We wonder if we ever thanked you For the sacrifices you made.

To let us have the very best? And for the simple things Like laughter, smiles and times we shared? If we habe forgotten to show our Gratitude enough for all the things you did, We’re thanking you now. And we are hoping you knew all along, How much you meant to us.

Daddy’s Girls…. Always!
