Her Story On October 31, 2017, Adrian Burton Crockett answered the call to make heaven her new home while surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Adrian Burton Crockett was born February 10, 1964 to the union of Michael L. Burton, Sr. & the late Florita A. Smith. She was the granddaughter of the late Lillie & Charles Burton and the late Clara Blackstone Smith & Richard Smith, Sr. She was a lifetime resident of New Orleans, LA where she graduated from George Washington Carver Sr. High School and attended Southern University of New Orleans. Adrian was a devoted mother, grandmother, companion, sister and friend. Outgoing and compassionate, she always put the needs of others before her own. Even in the midst of her health declining, she continued to be strong in her faith, never giving up or in to fear. She was a strong believer in our Heavenly Father and His works, always holding on to His word, contrary to the thoughts of man. Adrian fought the good fight until the Lord called her home. She attended Metairie Church for spiritual guidance and nourishment. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, cooking and spending time with her family and friends while cheering on the “Who Dat” nation. Adrian leaves behind many to mourn her passing and cherish her memories, including daughters, Tajuanna Crockett (Paul Morris) and Shanaya Crockett; grandchildren, Alden Addison, II and Kamari Crockett; longtime companion, Mark Wilson; her sisters, Ada Burton Burns (the twin), Nichol Burton, Jamie Anderson (Willie Anderson) and Marion Jackson; brothers, Michael L. Burton, Jr., Cedric and Mitchell Burton; aunts, Mary Walker, Delores Thomas, Ada Jacobs, Gwendolyn Roundtree, Henrietta Morris and Lydia S. Jackson; uncles, Donald Smith and Jimmy Lee Burton. Adrian is preceded in death by her mother, Florita A. Smith; sisters, Patricia and Michele Burton; son, Sean A. Crockett; granddaughter, Mariah Crockett and brother, Derick Burton. She will be missed by high school classmates, childhood friends (Metropolitan Street) and all who knew and loved her.

Farewell, Dear Mother Author Unknown
Somewhere in our hearts, beneath all our grief and pain, Is a smile we still wear, at the sound of your dear name. The precious word is “MOTHER,” she was our world you see, But now our hearts are breaking, cause she’s no longer here. God chose her for His angel, to watch us from above, To guide us and advise us, and know that we’re still loved. The day she had to leave us, when her life on earth was through, God had better plans for her, for this, we surely knew. When we think of her kindness, and all those loving years, Our memories surround us, and I can’t hold back the tears. She truly was our best friend, someone we could confide in, She always had a tender touch, and a warm and gentle grin. We want to thank you Mother, for teaching us so well, And now the time has come that we must bid you this farewell. We’ll remember all you’ve taught us, and make you proud without a fuss. Thank you our Dear Mother, for all the love you showed to us. Although you’ve left this earth And now you’ve taken flight, We know that you are here with us Each morning, noon and night.

To My Twin… Author Unknown
My Dear Sis, I had to go before you, My life on earth was through. But I will stop just inside Heaven’s Door, And there I will wait for you. At night look across the star fill skies, Past the moon and even beyond. You should know that my leaving, Could never break this heart’s undying bond. I had to go, you see, My journey to earth was through. You know I will be close behind, I will never be far from you. Across the far reaches of time and space, My love will always reach as far. For you will forever carry a piece of my heart, No matter where you are. We had no way of knowing, who would remain, Or even who would be the first on Heaven’s shore. But you’ll find me already here, I’ll be waiting just inside Heaven’s Door. All My Love, Adrian

I’m Free Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief; Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
