Her Story On Saturday, June 20, 2020, at approximately 2:47 pm, with her family at her side, Charlene H. Pratt answered the Master’s call and entered into eternal life at the age of 64. A native New Orleanian, Charlene one of 10 children was born to Charles M. Harleaux Sr. and the late Barbara Galle Harleaux on December 12, 1955, and was married to the late Alvester Pratt. She attended John McDonough Sr. High School, where she proudly marched as a co-captain on the majorette squad. Charlene was a long-time resident of the lower 9th ward community, where she raised her kids and was known as “mama” to many. Anyone who knew her knew that Charlene would go out of her way to make sure her kids were alright. She would often call out their names in that high-pitched voice everyone knew so well. She worked as a bartender and a teller at the Fair Grounds until her retirement. Charlene was a people person and was always there to help when needed. She enjoyed spending time with her children, family, and friends, up until her last breath. She was loved by
many. Charlene was passionately known as Momma, Red, Teedie, and Sista. She had an open-door policy, EVERYONE was WELCOME. Charlene enjoyed cooking and was famous for her potato salad, yaka mein, and shrimp string beans, a recipe she received from her older sister Dwana. She also enjoyed skating, shopping, playing card, and helping others. Charlene belonged to Our Lady’s Saturday Rosary Group. She Loved the blessed mother and prayed her Rosaries in addition to saying her prayers to daily. Charlene attended the Rosary group on Saturday going to different homes. One day, her father Charles, surprised her with a Blessed Mother statue which she loved dearly. Charlene will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and personality. Charlene, a loving, caring and devoted mother, leaves to cherish her memories, 3 children; one son, Randy Pratt ( Danielle), 2 daughters, Danielle Perry and Brianne Harleaux, her Father, Charles M. Harleaux, Sr., 2 brothers, Tim and Dwayne (Melinda) of California, 3 sisters, Dwana Terrance, Renia Hunt, Lelia HarleauxWalker (Joel, Sr.) and extended family, Luanna Arnold and Valencia Favaroth (like daughters), 13 grandkids, one 1 great-grandchild and 2 godchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Alvester Pratt,
grandmother, Deborah Saulet, loving mother, Barbara Galle Harleaux, 4 brothers Charles, Jr., Keith, Kevin, and Ricky Harleaux. Charlene will also be missed by a close cousin and confidant Geralyn Harleaux Hunt, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Randy’s Tribute Momma, I’ll always remember how you were there for us and made sure we were good no matter what, even if it meant you went without. I promise to make you proud and continue to live up to your expectations. Momma, you’ll always be here with me. I’ll love you always. Randy
Danielle’s Tribute Hi, Mom! It`s me Danielle (A/K/A) “Danny” as you would call me. Just thinking about how much I am going to miss u. I will miss hearing your voice on a daily, calling me to go do something for you. I will miss you fussing at the kids and putting baby Artis out of your room because he would be in there touching everything (lol!!). I will miss u at all the family gatherings being the life of the party, while you drink your shots of patron with lemon. I could go on and on about the things I will miss about you. But I have 38-years of memories that I will hold near and dear to my heart forever. Tell everyone you see up there I said hello and let Johnny and Alvester know that they cannot be fighting behind you up there (lol). I know God doesn`t make mistakes, and I will never question him. I hope you are now at peace and getting some rest. Enjoy your peace my angel and continue to watch over Me, Bri, Randy, and our kids. I love you, Mama, you were the best. My Girl My World Mrs. C.H. Pratt!!! Danielle

Brianne’s Tribute Mommy, I can’t believe the day has finally come where I have to live without you. You were everything for me. The pain I feel will never go away but to know you aren’t in pain anymore helps me through each day. Everybody tells me I’m so strong, and it’s all because of you. You and god have been preparing me to live without you. I finally got it, mama, I can do it all by myself. I’ve got Blair & Lennox and I promise not to fail Even though my heart is heavy it’s also full of love, I’ll hold on to every memory while you are in heaven above. Your baby girl, Brianne ❤️
A Father’s Love Charlene,
My Daughter, as the day goes by the pain in my heart grows but I put on my strong face to assure your siblings that everything will be ok. It hurts to lose you, my child. Know that I love you and I will miss you. Tell your mom and brothers I love them too. Forever and always my little girl. Love, Dad

Charlene my sweet sister, oh how I will miss you . We share so much even our birth year. You were second to me and even though we fussed a lot about me being older, it didn’t matter because we always had each other’s back. I will cherish and miss those moments for our love was unconditional. Love, Dwana “Sista” what life would be like without you around I don’t know but your smile, energy spirit, and love will be absent and that along will have a great impact on my life.
Love, Renia Red, as I sit here thinking of you my heart hurts knowing that I can’t come over to see you. It is like a part of me is missing and I can’t get it back. So, hold on to that piece of me until we meet again. I will always love you. Your Brother Tim To my “Sista” Thank you for your unconditional love and affection and for always making me feel important. While Word can’t explain nor can anything fill this large hole in my heart, I know we are just a thought apart. You were there for me at a drop of a dime, it did not matter the day or time. Red you are one of a kind. My life will never be the same. While I’ll miss your high-pitched voice beautiful spirit and smile I am glad to know your pain is no more, Rest my “Sista” Rest. Love, Lelia
Well Red, as I look back on my path of life, I can see your footsteps and the times we had together. We have reached a fork in the road were your path and mine must go in different directions. I can and will always look back and remember all the good times we had together, and I will always love and miss you. I do find comfort in knowing that our path will meet up again, so ‘till then I will always love and miss you. Love, Dwayne
