A Celebration of the Life of
Veronica DeSalle
Bagneris
I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8 January 19, 1931 - December 1, 2015
Her Story Veronica DeSalle Bagneris, was born January 19, 1931 to the union of Anita Doucet DeSalle and Louis R. DeSalle, Sr., and went to her eternal reward on December 1, 2015. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Louisette DeSalle, SSF; Helen D. Bagneris and Myrtle D. Johnson; brothers Louis DeSalle, Jr., Lawrence DeSalle, Sr. and Henry DeSalle. Veronica was married to the late Emile A. Bagneris, Sr. She is survived by sons, Dennis R. (Renee) Bagneris, Sr., Michael G. (Madlyn) Bagneris, Cedric A. (Courtney) Bagneris and Gregory M. Bagneris, all of New Orleans, LA and daughter, Kathleen B. (Philip) Hamrick of Hoover, AL. Veronica was grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Veronica was a tireless worker; she was employed as a food service worker for G. W. Carver Senior High School, a receptionist for NORD, and was a nurse’s aide at Mary and Joseph Residence for the elderly for numerous years. In retirement, she filled a need by working as an assistant and head cafeteria director at St. John Lutheran Elementary School. Veronica was known by many names to family and friends. She was affectionately call Aunt V by many, Miss V and Momma B by others. She was an excellent cook, serving up specialty dishes to her family and friends with her expert touch. She would make the most delicious turkey salad for her grandchildren’s birthday parties, refusing to divulge the recipe to anyone except her daughter. She was proud of her memory of everyone’s important dates and events, her family would often use her as a resource for remembering birthdays, wedding dates and other significant dates in family and friends’ lives. She enjoyed traveling with family to places like Disneyworld and beach vacations in Alabama and Florida. At a party or dance, you could always find her waving a handkerchief to do a Second Line around the dance floor. She loved watching her favorite TV shows like Family Feud, AMC vintage movies, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and Beautiful, critiquing the characters’ life decisions with all who would listen. Most of all, Veronica was a devout Christian, reading scripture, saying the rosary and praying daily. She boldly lived and exemplified her faith.

In Loving Memory of Our Mother Her children rise up and call her blessed. Proverbs 31: 28-31 There must have been times when you prayed for extra strength, patience, and love, and, God must have smiled knowing that you already possessed those gifts in abundance. We look back on all the wonderful ways you shaped our lives and hope you know how very, very grateful we are that you are our mother. We love you so very much, and we will miss you always and forever. As we remember you, we will always say “I love you” from the bottom of our hearts. You are the best mother in the world - the one, who tucked us in, taught us our prayers, and wished us “sweet dreams.” You taught us to be the strong, confident people that we are. Love Always, Dennis, Michael, Kathleen, Cedric and Gregory
In Memory of our Grandmother and Great-Grandmother God looked around his garden And found an empty space. Then He looked upon this earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest, God’s garden must be beautiful; He only takes the best. MaMa, you are the best grandmother and great-grandmother we could ever have asked for. We will always love you ,and we will miss you so very, very much. With Love, Your Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren Ve r o n i c a D e S a l l e B a g n e r i s January 19, 1931 – December 1, 2015
An Angel was Delivered An angel was delivered to heaven today and nobody knows why God said, “I know you have people who love you, but you cannot stay and today you must fly.” Although your soul has left your body, amazing memories will stay. An angel was delivered to heaven today, back to other angels long gone away. Although your body will be laid to rest, your smile, your laugh, your love we will most miss. An angel was delivered to heaven today who most called MaMa. She left behind a legacy of love no one will ever forget. Rest in Peace Veronica Bagneris (MaMa) January 19, 1931 – December 1, 2015
“Safely Home” I am home in heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light! All the pain and grief is over; Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in heaven at last. There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remainethYou shall rest in God’s own land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!
