Living in the City of Parkland, we all have a greater sense of the importance of community. We support each other, inspire each other, and we encourage each other to make positive differences in our communities, every day.

As we near the summertime, when things will slow down a bit and we hopefully will have time to reflect and unwind, remember to be respectful to those around you, regardless of their background or beliefs. Treat others with kindness and compassion and strive to be a positive influence on those you encounter. Whether it's volunteering in your community, lending a helping hand to someone in need, or simply listening to a friend who is going through a difficult time, there are countless ways that children—young and old—can make a difference in the lives of others.

For our high school graduates, take a moment to realize the value of education. It is the key to unlocking your full potential and achieving your dreams, and it is something you should never take for granted. Know that learning never ends. Seek out new experiences, challenge yourself to try new things, and never stop pursuing your passions.

For all students and families, as you move forward to your next chapters, remember that you are not alone. You have the support of each other, your friends, your community, and your country behind you, and we are all rooting for your success. With hard work, determination, and a commitment to excellence, there is nothing that we cannot achieve, together.
