DAVIE & BOY SCOUTS TO HONOR FALLEN HEROES ON MEMORIAL DAY
The Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony has been a longstanding tradition in Davie for almost 50 years. This event provides an opportunity for families to come together and pay their respects to the brave men and women who have lost their lives while serving in the military. The Town of Davie, Scoutmasters Camporee Committee, South Florida Council, and the Boy Scouts of America will be hosting the event on May 29, and all patriotic Americans are encouraged to join.
Scouting Chief Paul Spalding emphasized the importance of Memorial Day as a time to honor the sacrifices made by countless soldiers who dedicated their lives to protecting our freedom. The Parade will commence at 10:15 a.m., starting from the Davie Fire Administration and ending at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Participants are encouraged to dress patriotically and wave American flags along the route. Several community organizations, including Girl Scout Troops, Boy Scout

Troops, school bands, civic organizations, The Davie Police and Fire Rescue, and Town Councilmembers, will participate in the Parade. Veterans, Scouts, and military members are encouraged to wear their dress uniforms.
After the Parade, the Ceremony will commence promptly at 11:00 a.m. at the Rodeo Grounds on Davie Road. This will be a solemn occasion to recognize and honor the sacrifices made by our soldiers, including those who fought in different wars. The Ceremony will include a 21 Gun Salute, and flags will be available for purchase prior to the event for $1.00. Attendees may also bring their own flags to be placed on Veterans' graves during the Ceremony.
