If you love cracking open a crab leg or pulling the meat out of a freshly boiled lobster claw there is no better place to dine in South Florida.

Family Dining

You are welcomed into a bright, open dining space as soon as you walk into the restaurant. A large, well-stocked, rectangular bar dominates the center of the restaurant with tables and booths spread around it. Lots of natural light fills the room, making it quite welcoming for family members of all ages.

We sat in a booth with a window. Crab Holic offers entrees and Po’ Boy sandwiches, but “The Boils” or buckets, which are shared by the table, is clearly the way to go. The combination of sauces and oceanic treats is just too good to pass up.

Starters

We chose Crab Holic’s “Whole Lotta Fried Basket” to start our meal. The basket featured a tasty collection of fried seafood, including shrimp, catfish, scallops, and calamari. The scallops were particularly tasty. They were succulent and fresh. Not at all chewy, like some fried preparations. And, seasoned perfectly. My companions loved the calamari as well.

Buckets Full of Goodness

For our main course, our table of four sampled two of Crab Holic’s signature buckets. Each bucket contains a combination of freshly steamed shellfish that is smothered in a sauce of your choice and then sealed in a steam-filled bag as it is brought to your table. The incredible aroma formed when opening the bag is truly a feast for the senses!

We loved “The Royal” bucket, which included almost three pounds of fresh King Crab legs, Dungeness crab legs, snow crab legs and shrimp, along with corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, and tangy sausages. We opted for their Louisiana Original sauce which provided just enough spice to complement the seafood. We each enjoyed a classic caesar salad with our dinner.

Family-style dining at Crab Holic is quite fun. They offer bibs and were wipes so have no fear of heading home smelling like the ocean! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. There are also a number of flat-screen TVs by the bar. I can imaging enjoying a Dolphins game with snacking on Calamari on a Sunday afternoon in the near future.

Conclusion

What is great about Crab Holic is the simplicity of what they offer. If your family is full of shellfish lovers, or people who love fried fish, there is no better place for a night out in Davie. Crab Holic offers a delicious backyard seafood feast without the work. We can’t wait to head back.
