Masks: From the Faces of the World Collection of Dr. Donna L. Goldstein

Journey and explore unknown territories from around the world. The Art & Cultural Center of Hollywood is opening its latest exhibit feature the large collection of masks from cultures throughout the world. They capture humor, ritual, morality, and folkloric & historic story-telling to communicate a visual language from not-so-distant places. The exhibit will be on display through August 15th. Magic at the Museum

Island SPACE Caribbean Museum is celebrating its global launch and fundraiser witha very special night. The event will be an immersive showcase - a fusion of Caribbean talent, celebrity and storytelling. The virtual event will carry viewers on a journey illustrating the dynamic story of the Caribbean region, and celebrating the influence our culture now holds over the world. Night Market at Dania Pointe

When the sun goes down every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, the vendors would have already laid out their handmade, homemade, remade merchandise and produce, and a local musician begins to set the scene for the night. Welcome to the Night Market at Dania Pointe, a street bazaar, fashioned after the famous Temple Street in Hong Kong (except a ton more socially-distanced). Juneteenth: Freedom Day

On June 19, 1865, Union Army General Gordon Granger road into Galveston, Texas to enforce Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation in the last, most remote known location in the South. Since then, the date has been celebrated as the end of American slavery. It is helpful to reflect on the darkest parts of our history in order for us to look forward. Join together with friends and neighbors to celebrate the freedoms we have and the progress that still needs to come.
