Explore how artists have told the stories of Black History and the Black Lives Matter movement as a part of American History. This exhibition, organized by Rolando Chang Barrero, Curator of The Box Gallery, will be open to the public in the Banquet Hall of the Miramar Cultural Center. 2021 will be the 16th year of joining together in physical activity to benefit the children of our community. Only, this time we are going VIRTUAL! Run, Walk or bike your way to supporting one of the greatest organizations in South Florida. All proceeds support Flipany’s programs to fight childhood obesity and hunger by focusing on healthy food preparation, food security, physical education and work-site wellness. Make your Plastic Flamingo tell a story! Your flamingo can be feathered, painted, sequined or accessorized to your taste. Enter this flamingo decorating contest to have yours displayed on the Flamingo Gardens grounds. Make sure your submission is weather-proof since they will be subject to the outdoors.
