South Florida is a great place to live. This idea is something that most people reading this magazine already believe. It is, however, something that many people from other parts of the country are just now discovering. Financial firm Goldman Sachs is the latest major New York employer rumored to be moving one of its largest divisions here. According to multiple sources, almost 1,000 people move to Florida each day, with about half of them coming to South Florida. Our combination of natural resources, a less expensive lifestyle, and no income tax has served as a magnet for people and employers from around the county. This trend has only accelerated during the pandemic.

We are excited. Our new neighbors will bring new perspectives, more financial resources, and add to our collective culture. They will also help us more quickly pull out of the financial and public health crises we are facing.
