Broward Center for the Performing Arts Winter Classes

Performing arts classes are a fun, exciting, and engaging experience for students of all ages that are interested in singing, acting, improv, and dance. The classes, tailored for preschoolers, kids, teens, & adults, are designed to encourage artistic expression and are taught in a supportive and nurturing environment. Classes begin in February and most continue for 10 weeks. Classes available for all skill levels: from beginner to students. Some classes will be held in person at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale, in accordance with CDC and local health & safety guidelines which include mask-wearing and physical distancing. “For the Love of Charity” Valentine’s Fundraiser

Spend precious moments with the one you love while supporting South Florida’s largest charity that supports children! The Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center’s annual fund raiser is going semi-virtual! There are two ways to enjoy the evening. Anyone who wants to attend in person can do so with a pop-up happy hour picnic under the stars on the rooftop deck of the Las Olas Parking Complex. Reserved spaces, more than six feet apart, will include a special valentine blanket, charcuterie box, and wine and to be enjoyed while listening to live music. For those opting to stay home, guests can reserve a dinner package from Chef Lenore Nolan Ryan that will be delivered to their home. Tickets start at $120 for two guests. Backlot Live at the Broward Center

The Broward Centers’ Backlot Live at the Broward Center literally brings audiences to the stage door as they enter the Lillian S. Wells Backstage Parking Lot, now converted to a seated event space. This event, In the Light of Led Zeppelin, will follow the musical journey of the band. Tickets start at $25. Backlot Live at the Broward Center seating allows for 6 feet of physical distance and tickets are only available in pods of 2, 4 or 6 for patron safety. Black History Month: Literary Creations

Learn and create! Then, show your masterpieces! Celebrate Black History Month with us! Gather your building or drawing supplies to create something based on the story of the day. Share your creations live at the end of the program. 4:30 - 5:30pm at the Southwest Regional Library.

Visiting Artist Workshop - Painting fabrics Sampler

Experiment with creating your own paintings and designs on leather, cloth, and a variety of other fabrics and textures. Walk away with a sample of references to use in the future. Optional: As an added bonus, you may bring a blank tote bag, t-shirt, plain shoes, or a jean or leather jacket with you that you wish to transform using techniques learned in this sampler workshop!
