As we kick off October, we are excited to announce that many of our events are making a comeback after being cancelled or reimagined as a result of COVID-19. These include like our newly renamed Oktoberfest, Savor the Springs Restaurant Week and Monster Splash.

Join the fun as we celebrate the local culinary cuisine offered in Coral Springs. Savor the Springs Restaurant Week runs from October 1 through October 10, 2021. Local participating restaurants are offering great deals and prefixed menus with great dining options. To kick off the week, city’s Economic Development Office will host Yappy Hour at the ArtWalk on October 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Grab your pup and join us for specialty drinks, samplings from participating restaurants, food trucks, doggie treats and more! On October 16, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the city is excited to welcome back the fall’s signature event, Oktoberfest on the great lawn of City Hall in Downtown Coral Springs. The event features authentic German fare, entertainment, beer and wine, as well as Bavarian treats. Join us to celebrate a day celebrating German heritage, music, and more. We are especially excited to invite our youngest residents to celebrate Halloween at Monster Splash. The event will be held at Cypress Pool (1300 Coral Springs Drive) and will take place October 23-25. Guests will enjoy our Halloween inspired decorated pool deck during two-hour pool sessions. The outdoor event will include dancing to ‘spooktacular’ songs. Although the event is free, guests must pre-register and include the number of children and adults attending. This month, we focus on Fire Prevention Week and its theme, ‘Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety from October 3 through October 9. The goal is to provide education about simple, but important actions to take to keep yourself and others safe. The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department reminds you: • A continuous set of three loud beeps from your smoke alarm means smoke or fire. Get outside and call 9-1-1 immediately. • A single chirp every 30 or 60 seconds means the battery in your smoke alarm is low and must be changed. • Remember, all smoke alarms must be replaced after 10 years. Chirping that continues after the battery is replaced means the alarm is at the end of its life and should be replaced. • Make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms meet the needs of all your family members, including those with sensory or physical disabilities.
Our October Commission Meetings will take place on Wednesday, the 6th and 20th at 6:30 p.m.; residents are invited to watch and offer public comment by calling 954-344-5900.
