Plantation Celebrates July 4th

Plantation residents came out in droves to celebrate the nation’s birthday all day long on July 4th. The annual event is a favorite for all members of the family and this year’s celebrations were no exception.
Festivities started at 9:00 am with the Stars & Stripes Independence Day Parade. Kids of all ages looked on as fire trucks and police vehicles were joined by bands, politicians and more.
The real part started at 6:00 pm when the Kids’ Fun Zone opened at Central Park. Live music was provided by Big City Dogs on the main stage while children of all ages enjoyed activities including carnival rides, a petting farm, face painting, and more. Treats were provided by a number of different of food trucks while residents grabbed their spots on the law for the grand final.
“Today we gather in celebration of the 246th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence,” said Plantation Mayor Lynn Stoner, “this is one of the best days of the year to live in Plantation.”
The concert went into hype mode at 7:00 pm and didn’t stop till the fireworks display boomed for the Nation’s birthday shortly after dark. We can’t wait till next year!
